Elliot lay shirtless on his workout bench, lifting the metal bar up in the air before he brought it back down to his chest. The hammering at the door made him groan. He placed the bar back in the stand before he sat up, wiping away his sweat as hammering continued to come from the door. He stood and made his way across the apartment, the hammering on the door continuing.
"Yeah! Coming!" He yelled out seconds before he reached the door. He pulled open the door, surprised to see an army of cops on the other side "Can I help you?"
"Detective Elliot Stabler?" Elliot nodded "You're under arrest for murder" Elliot barely had time to process their words before they were putting him in handcuffs.
"I didn't kill anyone. What the hell is going on?"
"We have a search warrant for your apartment" One detective told him as the other cops began their search.
"Who have I supposedly killed?"
"Micah Johnson"
"I don't know who that is"
"That's what they all say" The detective muttered, earning a scoff from Elliot "Take him to interrogation" Elliot huffed as they hauled him away.

Elliot sat cuffed to the table, the detective entered, sitting across from him before he opened the case file and slid the crime scene photos over to him.
"I'm guessing that this is Micah Johnson" The detective didn't say anything "It looks like he was beaten"
"Gold star for you. He was beaten shortly before his death, he ultimately died from a gunshot" Elliot nodded.
"And you think that I did this?" The detective nodded.
"We have your DNA at the scene of the crime"
"On what?"
"A coffee cup" Elliot scoffed loudly.
"Seriously? Is that it? Any good lawyer could have that thrown out in seconds"
"Not if the cop has a history of violence" The detective added, earning him a glare from Elliot.
"I didn't kill that kid, I don't even know who he is"
"I think you do" Elliot huffed again "And I plan on charging you with his murder"
"Lawyer"
Elliot sat in the interrogation room, a phone in his hands as he waited for the person on the other end to answer.
"Olivia Benson"
"Hey Liv, I need a favour"
"What have you done now?"
"They think I murdered someone"
"I thought the days that we were accused of murder were over"
"Apparently not. I need a lawyer and a good one at that, this detective is set on me going down for this"
"I know just the lawyer, I'll call her. Don't say anything"
"I know the drill. See you soon" Elliot hung up, hearing a knock come from the door "I'm done" Elliot called out to the detective who then stepped inside of interrogation and took the phone back "My lawyer is on her way" The detective grunted before he left the room, leaving Elliot alone.
No more than thirty minutes later Liv and Rita Calhoun entered the interrogation room.
"You're free to go for now detective" Rita informed him.
"And the charges?"
"They still apply for now, they still think that you killed the guy" Rita told him.
"So what's next?"
"We go to SVU and make a game plan" Liv told him, handing him his bag of personal items.
"Then let's go, this room is starting to irritate me" Liv chuckled lightly as she led him and Rita out to her car.

Liv let out another sigh before she massaged her forehead. They had been there for two hours thinking of the best strategy to get Elliot off on the charges.
"Who knows Elliot the best? Who can testify to the complaints in his jacket?" Rita asked.
"That would be me" Liv held up her hand as she read the look on Rita's face "Oh no. We can't. Rita-"
"It's the best idea I've got" Liv groaned "Spousal privilege cannot be broken" Rita said finally, shock registering on the faces of the OC and SVU detectives.
"He's Catholic, it's a sin"
"Fake marriage isn't a sin but marriage is supposed to be sacred" Elliot reminded her.
"My point remains that this idea is crazy"
"And stupid" Elliot added.
"What is Liv's favourite colour?" Rita asked, her face serious.
"Orange"
"Why?"
"Because she's usually awake to see the sunrise"
"You remember that?" Elliot shrugged.
"What's Elliot's favourite book?" Rita asked.
"That's easy, the count of monte cristo"
"That's your favourite book?" Jet shot him a look "Grandpa" She teased.
"The wedding will only be small, more like a meeting in a judges office" Rita argued.
"That would leave us tied together, forever" Liv argued back.
"Not forever, just a few weeks after the trial and the annulment will be quick and quiet" Rita assured them. Liv sighed and shared a look with Elliot.
"I want to help you any way that I can"
"Marriage is too much of an ask"
"Is it?" She sighed "I'll do it if you're in" Elliot turned to Rita.
"This is the only way?" She nodded.
"The only way that I can think of" He nodded.
"Then I guess we're getting married" Liv gave him a small smile.
"Hey Carisi, what's Amanda doing today?" Liv asked as she took out her phone.
"She has the day off, why?"
"I need someone to go wedding dress shopping with" She pressed her phone to her ear and waited for her to answer. Elliot muttered to himself as he watched her "We're getting married"
