Vlad POV:

As my child's heart thumped in my ear I couldn't help but smile softly as I laid my hand on Hayley's stomach wanting to be as close as possible to them both before Hayley turned over and smiled up at me.

"Are you okay?" Hayley muttered as she wiped her eyes and sat up.

"I know what the witches are after." I spoke as Hayley smiled before she laid her hand on my arm and caressed it.

"What's wrong?" Hayley asked noticing my frown.

"It's a girl named Davina. She has vast power, and I think she needs our help." I spoke as Hayley nodded before her hand travelled up my arm and caressed my cheek while I looked into Hayley's eyes.

"Then we will help her, but what about Marcel?" Hayley asked as I sighed.

"Niklaus believes he and his siblings can handle Marcel." I said with a sigh as Hayley nodded.

"But you think they will only make things worse?" Hayley asked as I looked out the window.

"Not worse, but more so like they will be pushing the problem down the line to where this will come back to bite us in the arse later." I spoke as Hayley nodded before she moved from under the covers and sat on my lap with her arms looped around my neck.
