────── plot (hanging by the cross, game)

flawed faith revolves around the players character or the protagonist 'jude' . jude is a mortician / mortuary assistant who has strangely received a large influx of people perishing due to unknown circumstances. even when jude was doing the autopsies they struggled to deduct what was had occurred through the charred remains. it was obvious the victims had been burned alive, but some deterioration in the bones and brain, showed signs of previous decomposition before their body had been burnt.

jude makes a decision whether to tell the police of this info, selfishly choosing to keep it to themself until they received more clear evidence of what happened in the brains of the countless victims. until one day, a police car makes a stop beside the morgue, it was a relatively normal occurrence considering the police station was just two buildings down.

nonetheless, jude would consistently and shamefully listen in on their conversations by ever–so–slightly opening the window in the autopsy room.

peculiarly enough, they were talking about quite the interesting topic. the sudden increase of cadavers also suffering from the same fate verbatim, seemingly being both drugged and burned within a long enough time period where the brain begins to decay along with the bones. according to the officers, they had all come from this same location, something something about .. grimsthorne? a quaint little town looked after by a strange church, jude couldn't help but be a little interested.

jude had found it quite interesting because their elder brother, who lived in grimsthorne, had recently stopped responding to them. he just went completely no contact on jude without a word or warning.

yet only when they received a peculiar package and letter in the mail did jude feel the need to check up on their dear elder brother.

( there are a variety of game functions that
help jude (the player) both interact and build relationships with characters in game )

exp points : like any other game, there is an exp and point system, the player gains exp by exploring unknown parts on the map, advancing in main quest, building relationships with in-game characters, following side quests, etc. as any game, the player will level up upon obtaining a specific amount of exp. the amount will increase until the player reaches the max level—or the final stage in the game. every level reached will reward the player with coins, occasionally a trinket or two, and a spin on the wheel of fate.
