Lily loved watching Ben. Every day, after school, she'd sit on the park bench across from the basketball court and watch him play. He was so good, so graceful, so… everything she wasn’t.
Lily was quiet, a bit shy, and she always felt like she was watching the world from behind a foggy window. But when she watched Ben, the fog cleared. He was a bright light in her day, and she couldn't help but feel a little bit in love with him.
But Ben never noticed her. He was always surrounded by friends, laughing and joking, and Lily was just a shadow in the background.
