Blazekit's eyes drifted open slowly, his dream throughout the night rang through his head as he shook the sleep from his russet pelt. The dream he had was of catching his first mouse, the feeling of catching his own prey instead of taking in what the apprentices had to offer had felt so nice in his dream.

His vision, now fully clear, could see clearly around the darkened room, the bramble thickets blocked the light of a new sun that peeked from just beyond the forest, he gazed around at the younger kits and at the one around his age at six moons. He also found that one of the three Queens wasn't in the nursery like the other two. He assumed she went to go get some bedding.

He sprang to his paws, giving the Queen, Linnetbriar, the cat who had been a mother figure to him a touch to the nose.

"Goodmorning!" He danced around his paws excitedly.

"Goodmorning, my Little Sunbeam!" The chocolate spotted tabby smiled enthusiastically.

Blazekit peeked his head around the corner and out into the clearing of the Dawnclan camp, he closed his eyes and felt the warm, subtle breeze in his fur before turning back to Linnetbriar.

"Today promises to be warm! It's been so rainy lately." He noted. He started bouncing around the nursery, before suddenly jumping playfully onto Linnetbriar and giving her ear a few quick affectionate licks.

Linnetbriar gasped and started laughing hysterically, she rolled over slowly to get Blazekit off her back and he yelped in surprise as they were both knocked to the surface built of soft ferns and moss.

Blazekit and Linnetbriar both burst into giggles, the young queen still wasn't old enough yet where she couldn't goof off with a kit.

Through the laughter, she turned her head to the him.

"You purr so loudly when you sleep y'know that?" She teased.

"Yeah, I know!" -he was oblivious to what was supposed to be teasing- "I was dreaming about catching a mouse." His tail swished and lashed as he laid in the soft surface of the nursery.

"Being an apprentice is so close now that I could literally taste it!" He thought for a moment, he was even having dreams of catching mice! And soon that dream would become a reality.

Rainkit, a kit, like him at the age of six moons came up to the pair, purring a kind greeting. Rainkit, from talking to him in the nursery was really shy and soft spoken, but like Blazekit, Rainkit saw Linnetbriar as a mother, even if that wasn't really the case, as his mother had taken on Warrior duties soon after Rainkit had started to eat fresh-kill. As for Blaze, his best friend.

"Hiya!" He mewed to the pair on the ground. His tail swished elegantly on time, in a steady rhythm.

"Err.. what are you two doing on the floor?" He asked just a bit confused.

Blazekit instantly sprang to his paws and Linnetbriar turned over and shook her coat out.

"We were just playing around!" Blazekit replied happily. Blazekit turned his head to the Queen.

"Do you think we could take a walk around camp?" He asked excitedly. Rainkit's eyes brightened at the question, and when Linnetbriar said yes, they said goodbye, and the two kits raced out into the clearing.

The reach of the sun stretched over their heads, the perfect breeze was enough to make Blazekit's fur stand on end with excitement.

Blazekit spotted several cats getting up and trotting all around camp. Some speaking with each other, and some laying in the warm, orange sun. The stone slab used as a gathering place on the ground was warm and dappled in sun, even on the hottest days the stone stayed at the perfect temperature, the leaves from the trees let in speckles of sunlight leaving a beautiful pattern on the dull, grey stone.
