Blazepaw touched Linnetbriar's nose and twined his tail around hers, purring affectionately, his adoptive mother had come up to him after the apprentice ceremony, bursting with pride for her son.

"Blazepaw, no longer Blazekit! Congratulations my Little Sunbeam!" Her eyes glowed with delight as she brushed her pelt gently to his, and he purred back with delight.

Rainpaw stumbled up to Blazepaw, Sycamoreberry and Dovefang directly on his tail, endlessly congratulating him and expressing how proud they were that Rainpaw had turned out to be Sycamoreberry's apprentice.

"...-paws. Now being an apprentice can be very difficult, especially in Leaf Bare, where the prey is scarce and cats get sick, you must work hard when those times come, and when it comes to battle, try not to get ahead of yourself, you're not invincible, you're going to get hurt. Do your absolute best, take in everything you can learn from me, especially battle moves! You never know when a cat from another Clan might want to turn you into crowfood!"

Sycamoreberry had been ranting in the short time the clan dispersed from the ceremony to Rainpaw, she was clearly thrilled and excited to teach Rainpaw everything she knew.

Rainpaw, seemingly already exhausted by the chattering of his new mentor, waved his tail to Blazepaw and rolled his eyes discreetly.

Linnetbriar giggled quietly and brushed her tail to Blazepaw's again.

"I'll be in the Warriors den if you need me!" She called back to him, padding away. Blazepaw waved his tail again to wave her goodbye.

Blazepaw noted that since him and Rainpaw had left the nursery, it meant Linnetbriar wasn't needed in the there anymore, since now there was only two other kits with two Queens, it'd be more than enough, and Linnetbriar could contribute to the Clan as a Warrior.

Rainpaw then nudged Sycamoreberry playfully, and wrapped his tail around his mothers, to which she purred and instantly stopped ranting.

"Ah, Rainbowkit- No! Rainbowpaw!" -Sycamoreberry laughed- "My son, you're going to be a fantastic Warrior some day, I know that much is true." Sycamoreberry's voice was full of emotion and genuine love, only to which Rainpaw nodded and smiled.

Sycamoreberry acknowledged Rainpaw's quiet demeanour, and fixed herself to give him a gentle yet affectionate nuzzle.

Rainpaw purred, which turned into a slight chuckle.

"I love you mom." He said simply, yet sweetly. Sycamoreberry purred in reply and nuzzled him a bit more.

Blazepaw felt a short pang of unfamiliar envy and he hadn't a clue as to why. Instead he went on and twined his tail around Rainpaw's when Sycamoreberry had left and padded towards the Medicine Den.

Rainpaw then glanced back at the Medicine Cats den where Sycamoreberry had just disappeared inside, he then turned back to Blazepaw and puffed as if out of energy, then smiled.

"I knew being an apprentice was going to be a challenge, but there's no way I'm going to keep up with all that!" Rainpaw let out a sigh mixed of anxiety and joy.

"We're apprentices now Blazepaw! We have  mentors!"

Blazepaw giggled at once, Rainpaw's instant change of mood caught him slightly off guard. He knew Rainpaw acted a little differently around him than anyone else, and Blazepaw kind of felt flattered at such a thing.

Blazepaw pushed away that thought, and sprang onto Rainpaw playfully as if he were still a small kit.

"Well I'm going to be the greatest fighter in the Clan!" Blazepaw exclaimed. He batted at his opponent with sheathed paws.
