The day started off as any normal day at The Knight Nursery.
Autumn, Deliah, Reece and Janice were all in their separate compartments of their office.
Marjorie was making phone calls, in her office.
All of the remaining staff were in their correct rooms.
Absolutely no one was out of place.

3:30pm- 20th October 2024.

"Reece, for the love of god will you please stop sending me instagram reels." Autumn asked with an attitude.

"Sorry Aut. I just love watching you open them through the glass screen."

Autumns face turned from an emotionless pit to a scowl, she couldn't deal with Reece's voice
"Quit watching me or I will throttle you."

Reece's eyes shot up in fake alert, he was used to Autumn's threats by their 35 years of being siblings.

Meanwhile, Charlotte and Lydia were in the baby room.
Charlotte had just set her group down for an activity. A painting activity.
Lydia was scrolling on her phone, she always did that. Anytime, anywhere.
But, Charlotte had just gotten bored of it.
She knew it happened yet, she didn't do anything about it, she knew that if Lydia got caught, the apprentice would be done for and that would comfort Charlotte. She had always done all of Lydia's work for her.

"Okay, Dylan! Lovely painting!" Charlotte exclaimed as she looked at the pools of paint splattered on the young boy's painting.
It was a necessity to say that the child's painting was good or lovely or amazing, even if it looked like dog crap, which Dylan's did.
The boy began to give the painting to Charlotte as if to say 'keep it!'
Did the worker want to keep it?
Not at all, her fridge was already covered with many paintings and drawings from her own children. She did not need another addition to her art gallery.
Either way, Charlotte had to accept it, no matter what.

6:30pm- 20th October 2024.

It had been 30 minutes since the children had left. 30 minutes. 3600 seconds.

Charlotte was packing up her bag. Her keys, her phone, her wallet and the painting.
She knew she couldn't leave the art at nursery or else a heart would be broken. So, there she put it, in her bag.

"Baby, are you ready to go?" Charlotte heard a seductive voice call out.
It was her girlfriend, Mia.

"Yep!" She called back. Charlotte seemed very excited to spend some quality time with her other half.

"Let's go then." Mia replied.
Charlotte stood up; grabbed her bag and placed it on her shoulder. Then, she opened the classroom door at met her significant other eye to eye.
The brunette grasped the red-heads hand and interlinked it.
As the couple were walking, Charlotte felt something fall out of her bag.
'It's fine. It's nothing important.' She thought.

Little did Charlotte know, that object would cost one of her bestest friends life....
