Jeanne and her friends rushed towards the beach, the excitement palpable in the air. The warmth of the sun warmed their faces as they played in the water and on the sand, laughing uproariously and splashing each other. Hours passed without them noticing, marked by the sound of the waves and joyful screams. But as the daylight began to fade, it was time for everyone to head home.
Back at home, Jeanne settled into her bed, her hair still damp, and took a glance at her phone. She discovered a series of messages from Daniel sent a few hours earlier, which brought a amused smile to her face.
Daniel
— Hey, butt face.
— You're not replying.
— Did you give me a fake number?
— Maybe you're having fun with a guy?
— Well, I'm going to get annoyed...
— Jeanne, I think I'm going to have to report a missing person.
— Well, I'm going to find something to occupy myself.Jeanne
— Are you that bored?Daniel
— Finally, I was starting to think you were busy with a guy.Jeanne
— No, I'm not like you; I don't play with people.Daniel
— Is that how you see me?Jeanne
— That's your reputation, at least.Daniel
— Yeah, that's true, and you know I don't like it.Jeanne
— Well, try to change.Daniel
— That's what I'm doing.Jeanne
— Yeah, we'll see about that.
— Otherwise, are you getting hooked on me? I've never seen a guy respond so fast.Daniel
— It's just that no guy was really interested in you.Jeanne
— Or maybe the others weren’t spending their lives on their phones.Daniel
— Are you looking for trouble?Jeanne
— No need, you're always around.Daniel
— Maybe you're not the one I'm looking at.Jeanne
— That would be too good to be true.Daniel
— You're not very nice, I could teach you.Jeanne
— Oh no, I prefer being unpleasant.Daniel
— So, where have you been all this time?Jeanne
— That's none of your business.Daniel
— Why not?Jeanne
— I didn't know we were a couple.Daniel
— Would you be interested?Jeanne
— Definitely not.Daniel
— Excuse me, I had forgotten your unconfessed love for Ethan.Jeanne
— Jerk!
— You're the one obsessed with me, always searching for my gaze, staring at my lips, am I wrong, darling?Daniel
— Yes, that might be true, but don’t call me that, I’ll start to like it.Jeanne
— How about "jerk" or "darling"?Daniel
— Coming from you, both.Jeanne
— Well, if you don't mind, I’m going to leave you. Actually, even if you mind, I’m going to leave you; I have a life.Daniel
— You're playing with fire.Jeanne
— Oh really? How so?Daniel
— You know, if you stop replying to me, I know where you live.
