Maeve was glad to be back. Hogwarts was the only place she actually felt at home. Even if she had friends that keep getting themselves into trouble.

"Potter! Granger! I want to see you both!" Professor Mcgonagall called from amidst the crowd of students.

"There's no need to look so worried – I just want a word in my office." She told them. "Move along there, Weasley and Selwyn."

Ron stared as Professor Mcgonagall ushered Harry and Hermione away from the chattering crowd.

"C'mon, Ron, they'll be fine." Maeve said, dragging him to the Great Hall and sitting down at the Gryffindor table.

"They can't be in trouble already, can they? The school year hasn't even started!" Ron said, looking at the entrance of the Great Hall, hoping to see the duo.

Maeve stared at him. "You literally flew a car last year to get to Hogwarts and almost exposed the Wizarding World. I don't think you get a say about getting in trouble before the school year starts," Maeve said, making Ron look back at her, his mouth opening and closing like a fish. "Even Fred and George haven't done something as stupid as that, and that says something."

"I hear I've been summoned?" Fred and George took a seat on either side of Maeve.

"I was just pointing out to Ron that flying a car to get to school isn't the best idea he had. And the fact that you two never done anything crazy like that amazes me." Maeve said, looking at Fred.

"Ah, well, we would fly the car around Hogwarts, not in muggle London." Fred said, smirking at Ron.

"Makes the trouble more fun." George added.

"How else were we supposed to get to school?!" Ron said.

"Literally wait. Mcgonagall would have noticed that two of her students were missing." Maeve said like it was obvious.

Ron didn't have anything to say to that and just crossed his arms and looked at the new first years getting sorted.

Maeve snorted lightly.

"So, how was your summer, Mae?" Fred asked in a soft voice so as to not disrupt the ceremony.

Maeve turned her head to look at him. "It was fine. Heard you went to Egypt. I wonder what kind of trouble you got into there." She said, smirking slightly.

Maeve wasn't particularly close to the twins, but she did like their company. Though she always felt more comfortable with Fred, she never knew why.

"Wouldn't you like to know." Fred said, grinning.

Maeve rolled her eyes and looked back at the sorting ceremony with a small smile playing on her lips.

Fred kept looking at her. He would never admit it to himself, but he had hidden feelings for the girl sitting beside him.

Her beautiful red hair that matched his own. Her freckles were like a million stars plucked from the sky. Her eyes were the best part. Every time he looked into them, he felt like finally catching his breath after being under water for too long.

When the sorting ended, the twins decided to go back to where they were previously sat and conversed with their friends.

Maeve silently watched Fred talk with Lee Jordan. She always admired the way he moved with his hands so enthusiastically when he talked about some pranks they were planning.

"Maeve!" Ron said, snapping her out of her daze.

"What?" She said, looking at him confused.

"Well, for one, I've been trying to get your attention for the past minute and two, why are you staring at my brother?" He asked sceptically.
