The next morning, as the sun streamed through the dorm's windows, Jimin was frantically searching for his phone. He needed to check the group chat for updates before heading out for their next filming session. The members were scattered around, preparing for the day, the sounds of laughter and banter filling the air.

In his rush, Jimin grabbed what he thought was his phone from the table, but unbeknownst to him, it belonged to the manager. The sleek black device felt familiar in his hands as he quickly slipped it into his pocket, not giving it a second thought.

When the manager entered the room minutes later, his eyes narrowed at the sight of Jimin holding his phone. The atmosphere shifted instantly, tension crackling in the air. "Yah! Jimin!" the manager yelled, storming toward him with an expression that made Jimin's heart drop. "What the hell are you doing with my phone?"

Jimin's eyes widened in realization, panic rising in his chest. "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to—" he stammered, fumbling to pull the phone from his pocket, but before he could explain, the manager lunged forward, his anger palpable.

"You think this is a joke?" the manager snapped, seizing Jimin by the collar and pulling him close. "You think you can just take my things without asking?"

Jimin's mind raced as he tried to formulate an apology, but the manager was already unbuckling his belt, and Jimin's heart sank. Just as the belt was about to come crashing down on him, Jungkook, who had been watching the whole scene unfold, felt a surge of protective instinct.

"No! It was my fault!" Jungkook shouted, rushing forward. "I took your phone by mistake. I swapped it with Jimin's when we were on break. Please, don't hurt him!"

The manager's gaze snapped to Jungkook, his eyes narrowing with a dangerous glint. A twisted smirk spread across his face as he relished the sudden shift in the situation. "So, it was YOU, huh?" he said slowly, his tone icy.

Jungkook's heart raced as he nodded frantically, desperate to take the blame and shield Jimin. He could feel the weight of the manager's stare, the smirk growing wider as he processed the information.

"Well, you both need to be punished for this little mix-up," the manager said, his voice low and menacing. Jungkook felt a chill run down his spine, dread settling in his stomach.

The manager's eyes flicked to Taehyung, who had been watching the exchange with wide, fearful eyes. In a swift motion, the manager turned and lunged toward Taehyung, grabbing him by the arm and dragging him forward.

"Let's see how you feel when someone you care about takes the punishment," he sneered.

"Wait! No!" Jungkook shouted, but it was too late. Before anyone could react, the manager raised the belt and struck Taehyung's back with a swift crack. The sound echoed around the room, and Jungkook's stomach dropped.

Taehyung yelped, pain flashing across his features. He had barely registered what was happening before the next blow landed. Tears sprang to his eyes, but he fought to keep his composure, to stay strong.

The manager showed no mercy, striking Taehyung repeatedly. "You think this is funny? You think you can mess with me?" he yelled, each word punctuated by another whip of the belt.

"No! Stop!" Jungkook screamed, panic surging through him. "It wasn't him! It was me!"

The manager ignored him, focusing on the boy who was caught in the crossfire of his rage. Taehyung's body shook under the blows, gasping and crying out as blood began to seep through his shirt, pooling beneath him.

Jimin was frozen in shock, unable to comprehend the brutal scene unfolding before him. "Stop it! Please!" he cried, tears streaming down his face. "It's not his fault! Please, stop hurting him!"

But the manager was lost in his rage, each strike of the belt harder and faster than the last. The other members rushed forward, trying to intervene, but the chaos was overwhelming, and it felt like time had frozen in place.

Finally, the blows ceased, and Taehyung crumpled to the ground, his body trembling uncontrollably. He lay there, gasping for breath, eyes squeezed shut as he fought against the pain.

"Hwan! Please! Stop it!" Jungkook cried, his voice cracking. He dropped to his knees beside Taehyung, desperately reaching out but unsure how to help.

Taehyung's eyes fluttered open briefly, filled with pain and confusion. His breath came in shallow gasps, and for a moment, he looked lost, as if he couldn't comprehend where he was or what had just happened.

The manager smirked as he walked away, leaving behind a devastated Jungkook and Jimin. Jungkook and Jimin moved closer to Taehyung, their hearts breaking at the sight of their friend in pain.

"Namjoon! Jin! Hobi! Yoongi!" Jimin screamed out. Jungkook was still in shock kneeling besides Taehyung.

Namjoon and Jin rushed in, shortly followed by Hobi, and a moment later, Yoongi.

"What the fuck happened?" Yoongi asked, while Hobi and Jin froze in place in shock.

"Get him home. Now," Namjoon ordered, his voice steady despite the turmoil inside him. The members carefully lifted Taehyung, cradling him as they made their way back to the dorm, the weight of the situation heavy on their shoulders.

Once back in the safety of their space, the atmosphere was filled with a somber urgency. They knew they had to take care of Taehyung, but every touch felt like a reminder of the pain he had just endured. They cleaned his wounds with trembling hands, each wince and cry from Taehyung piercing through them like a knife.

As they applied rubbing alcohol, Taehyung thrashed, trying to pull away, the pain overwhelming him. "Tae, I'm so sorry," Jungkook whispered, tears streaming down his face. "I didn't mean for this to happen. I'm so sorry."

But no matter how many times they apologized, the guilt remained, festering like an open wound. After what felt like hours, Taehyung finally succumbed to exhaustion, his body giving out as he fell into a restless sleep.

As the dorm fell silent, Jungkook and Jimin sat by his side, their hearts heavy with remorse. They couldn't shake the feeling that this was their fault, but for Jungkook, he felt as if he had somehow failed to protect his hyung.
