~ Genesis by GrimesWhen the apocalypse first started we stayed in our home for about 3 weeks before it got overrun.
I remembered thinking that this was the end for everything, for us, and for me. That the walkers ruled the world and human had no hope or strength against it.
I never got to be right though. I've lost so much and I have so much answers, but no one has any of them.
I've slept day after day and I hoped, every time I shut my eyes, that I'd feel something. See something. Anything, but it's always darkness. I don't even dream anymore. I haven't for a long time.
The last time I did, it was with my sister. But it wasn't even a dream, it was just a dark nightmare filled with lies, trying to manipulate me from the truth. That this was the end of the world and there was nothing I could do to stop it.
So here i was, sitting inside of an abandoned barn with my group in complete silence. It's not that we didn't feel comfortable with each other because we did, but it was cause we were so overly exhausted by everything.
I was up against the wall with my feet halfway against my chest as I stared at my untied converse. They had dirt all over the sides and green moss on the outside hiding its true color.
I watched as Carl grabbed the wood and placed it in the middle.
I watched Judith play with the hey on the ground as Rick stayed near her.
Gabriel was sitting in the same spot staring at the ground.
Everyone else was in their own thoughts.
My eyes went from my dirty shoes to the rusty wooden door of the barn. It squeaked open revealing Maggie and Sasha with... a man?
"Hey, everyone." She walked in slowly making room for the mysterious man. "This is Aaron."
Everyone stood up grabbing their guns and pointing it at him. I crawled over to Judith and picked her up setting her on my lap.
"We met him outside he's by himself." Daryl went outside to check if there was anyone else. "We took his weapons and we took his gear."
Daryl started patting him down.We all stared at him in silence as we waited.
"Hi." Aaron said.
Everyone else just looked at him and Judith started crying. I looked around as no one seemed to care so I made the first move.
