The gym was huge, to no one's surprise. The bleachers at one end were closed up, and at the other end of the room was a stage. There were curtains, and in front of the curtains was a black and yellow flag, as well as a podium with a mic on it. On the front of the podium and curtains, as well as on the wooden floor of the gymnasium and the flag as well, was the HPA emblem.
"Fantastic!" Rue yipped. "This gymnasium is so pretty! I wish my former highschool had one like this!"
"It ain't that cool," Bradie disagreed. "It's kinda fucking bland if you ask me."
"Well, it's nothing that I'm unfamiliar with, that's for sure," Chidori began, pushing up her glasses. "My old school had a big gym, too."
"As did mine," Hisayoshi shrugged.
"Alright, alright!" Marijose yelled, her voice bouncing off of the walls, her hands on her hips. "We're all here now! I want the owner of that voice to show themself already!"
"Yeah, we all totally think that yelling will make things better," Zenkichi grumbled. "Good job."
"Don't worry your heads about this," I beamed. "It won't be long, I'm sure of it."
"How can you be so damn optimistic?" Banri inquired. "I knew scouts were, like, all sunny and friendly but jeez, bro."
"Well... I just want to encourage everybody to get along and do their best. I know it's a lot, but-"
Before I could finish, I was cut off by that damn annoying voice. We all stepped a bit closer to each other.
"Good job, you all made it to the gym on time! I knew you could do it..."
"Ha! Yelling did work!" Marijose declared.
"I don't quite think it did," Zenkichi replied bitterly.
"Hey, quit blabbering and look at the stage."
Makiko pointed straight ahead. There was the sound of some rustling and shuffling.
"Ahhhh, what's that..?" Nozomi panicked.
Nobody answered, since nobody knew the answer. But, surely enough, the answer presented itself.
"Sorry to keep you waiting, but your orientation begins riighhtt... NOW! Courtesy of me, your headmaster, AKA...."
"Mr. Monokuma!"
We all stared in total disbelief as a bear jumped up from behind the podium and then on top of it, making everything on it shake. There were some gasps here and there, but aside from that, it was silent for a few long seconds.
"Uuhuhu... Speechless, are you all?" the bear chortled. "Well, it's only natural!"
"What. The fuck. Is that?" Bradie pointed.
