I was walking home when this woman approached me. She was wearing gym shorts and what looked like a sports shirt. Those mesh ones. I moved over thinking she wanted to go past me and she stood by me. I decided to be nice and started a conversation.

"Hi..." I waited for her to reply but it didn't come. I shrugged it off and opened my messages to Ryder's contact. She looked over at who I was texting and started talking. "How long have you and Mr. Lawson been together?" "About a month...." I lied I had only met him a few hours ago. "So that scumbag was cheating on me!" She exclaimed. Then I realized who she really was... Sophie Hazel, Ryder's ex-girlfriend. "No no no! I'm so sorry for lying I've only known him for a few hours.... My boyfriend cheated on me and I met him at the airport." I admitted my lie which made me feel a little lighter. I was never good at lying.

"I know, I hate it when people lie..." She said. "Sorry..."
"All good, now are you another one of Ryder's flings or are you another one of his PAs.?"
"Um PA...."
"So you'll be gone in almost a month..."
"Probably not, I me-"
"That's what usually happens then I can finally win Ryder over and you'll be just another fling!"
"Are you always this condescending? Or am I just sensitive?"
"You're just a sensitive naive sweetheart who thinks what she and Ryder have is unique. Dating someone for twelve years is unique!" She snapped as she promptly jogged off.

I was a little taken aback but I just finished walking home and decided to do some chores. Once I was done Ethan's friend came by. I know I said Ethan was hopeless in the women's department but I could sense something between Ethan and Mia.

"Hey! You're here!" Mia said as she found the door unlocked. It's something Ethan never did so I could get her surprise"Yeah, just working through some stuff and decided to move to Seattle...." I hugged her and she frowned at me. Mia knows I really love my family and wouldn't just move five hours away. "What did Liam do?..." If Mia had x-ray vision and Liam happened to be standing in her range of sight he would be dead. "Just the usual..... You know sleeping with super hot blondes when I'm not home, I found a couple charges on my credit card to a bar known for having strippers..... What lying men usually do..." Mia looked like she wanted to give Liam (who is five hours away) a large piece of her mind. "No fu##ing way! Strippers!" "Yup" I said popping the 'p'.

"Wow... I mean I sort of expected it from Liam but it's still shocking..." "Well I guess I should've listened to Ethan when he told me about Liam. Speaking of which I should probably listen to him about Ryder...." I said to Mia trailing off my sentence.

I know it seems unlikely but Tessa and I have been friends since we were 12 I mean she's known Ethan since they were in diapers, but knowing someone for 16 years is a really long time. It enraged me that Liam even thought of other women while being with Tessa! Wait did she say Ryder?

"Yeah also why Casanova? Wasn't there a better nickname you could give him?"

"Well him and Sophie have been broken up for seven months and he's had a new woman every week...."

"Not telling you to go after him cause Ethan would literally kill me if I did, but..... He is usually really faithful when dating someone so maybe...."
"Thanks Mia gotta go to the office but I'll be back!"
"Don't do anything stupid or I will literally not be alive in a month!"

I realized if I got Ryder to be my boyfriend I wouldn't have to worry about Sophie. I raced to the office until I realized I can't get someone to be my boyfriend in jeans and a shirt. I ran back into the house to change. Luckily I packed my whole wardrobe. I picked out a black mini dress with frills. It was really short and not my usual style but so long as it won over Ryder. I honestly have no idea what I was thinking. I don't wear clothes to impress men, I wear them cause I feel comfortable. But right now I need Ryder to like the dress.

I walked out of my room with  bright red lipstick and light blush. Then I texted Ryder.

Mia looked at me smiling at my phone. "Your really wearing a short dress just for Ryder?" "Well if I want him to be mine I've gotta!" "I'm sorry but I need to text Ethan this before he finds out naturally!" "Fine but don't tell him we're meeting now, if he asks you didn't know we were." "Okay"

I got to the restaurant and the first person I saw was Sophie, she was sitting by this guy, I paid them no attention and walked to a booth waiting for Ryder.
