Anna and Gabriel have longed to tell their daughter the truth. But it's too dangerous. Their daughter is more special than she'll ever know. But being born mortal to two immortals who have only ever known fighting magical and mythical creatures their whole lives is even more dangerous. And so the couple took to keeping Eve's real heritage a secret from her for her safety.
[With Anna and Gabriel 6 hours later]Now that Eve is all grown up and out of the nest, the couple have taken to going back to work with the library. Both acting as Flynn's guardians until the library picks a new one. Flynn has been the librarian for the last 10 years. He knows of their immortality and of Eve. But he's never met her. Only seen pictures.
Judson and Charlene are still his favorite people along with Excalibur who is his best friend though he's a sword. The couple immediately fell in love with Flynn when they met him and vowed to take care of him if something were ever to happen to both Judson and Charlene. They loved him like a son and expected that if he ever meets their daughter, they'd become a couple. Both parents know that Eve's most prized feature in a man was his brains. And Flynn was an absolute genius.Coming back to present day, Anna is sparring with Excalibur and her husband in the gym. She quickly dodges the sword and manages to kick Gabriel in the chest knocking his sword out of his hand and him to the floor. "Oh come on, Cal. You're not out of practice. You can do better than that." She said then looked to her husband still on the floor. "Gabriel, what happened? Normally you would've blocked me and had my hands pinned with your sword to my neck."
The monster hunter stood up as Cal paused the sparring. He looks to his wife and chuckles. "Guess it's just been too long since I've used weaponry other than a gun and other more modern weapons. A little out of practice. Unlike you, My queen. You did great. Seems your muscle memory did most of the work today. It's like you never stopped."
Anna smiles and walks over to peck his lips. "Thanks, Hunny. But be careful with the title. You know we can't reveal ourselves. We never know who's listening. Don't wanna accidentally slip up. If the wrong person or creature discovers us, our daughter will be in danger."
Gabriel sighs. "I know, Hunny. But we're in the library. Not out in public right now. We can be our true selves here. I know you're worried, but Eve can take care of herself. She didn't rank up to be a colonial so fast so young without being properly trained. We taught her everything we could without giving our pasts away to her and still able to train her to be the best. She's the best of both of us. She'll be fine."
The past queen of Transylvania deflated. "I guess you're right. But I can't help it. She's our only child. Our little girl. And she's mortal. It just scares me. I can't lose her, Gabriel. Remember how it took us two whole centuries just to get pregnant? She's our miracle baby. I can't even begin to think what would happen if she died because the wrong person or creature discovered our immortality and went after her."
Before her husband could respond, the gym door flew open and a wide-eyed semi-ecstatic Flynn ran in stopping in his tracks. "You are NOT gonna believe what happened today!" The librarian said with a broad smile.
Excalibur got excited and greeted the man in a friendly manner as the past king and queen turned to look at him. "What's going on, Flynn?" Anna asked curiously. Her Transylvanian accent slipping out.
Flynn slightly batted at the floating sword. "Ok. Stop it, Cal. It's nice to see you too." He chuckled then turned back to them. "I met Eve."
Both parents looked at him a little shocked. "How? Where?" Gabriel asked.
