It's another day at "A fresh tart" which is the name of the bakery I decided to open after I had Harvey and left Joe for good. I thought starting my own bakery would be a good way to get away from all the chaos that was going on in my life. After I left Joe and gained full custody of Henry, he's been trying to track me down and there's no doubt in my mind he'd kill me if he had the chance. I bought weapons and a variety of security cameras just in case he tries anything. I know I'm paranoid but I figured it's better to be safe than sorry Joe is dangerous and he knows it. I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard the door to my bakery open. There was a woman that looked to be in her mid twenties that entered the bakery, she looked enchanting and she smelt just the same. I immediately walked over to my new customer as I greeted her and asked her what she would like. She smiled brightly, "I'd like a six figure salary and a tax write off, but for now I'll just take a batch of strawberry cupcakes." she said in a jest tone of voice. "Ah coming right up" I said as I walked to the kitchen grabbing what I needed to bake from the cabinets. I couldn't stop thinking about that woman's joke earlier. I really like how witty she is and she seems really independent and adamant on what she wants, maybe I should try talking to her a bit more. As I finished with the first half of the cupcakes I put them in the oven and set the timer. While the cupcakes were baking I wanted to talk to that woman and get to know her instead of just waiting for them to finish baking. I walked back to the main area of the bakery and smiled at the customer awaiting her order while leaning over the counter. "So while you wait for your order I thought we could maybe get to know each other better," I said smiling ear to ear. We both introduced ourselves and she revealed her name to be y/n y/l/n. Her name was beautiful, rolled right off the tongue and had a unique flare to it. Y/n talked about her hobbies, her friends names, where she works, and her favorite foods she was an open book, she was however withholding information which I can understand why she barely knew me, I tried telling her some personal stuff about myself like my mother's abuse and my insecurities so she'd feel more comfortable telling me more, but it didn't seem to work. In the middle of our conversation I heard the timer go off, "oh I should get that," I said as I rushed to the oven to get the cupcake mix out and put the frosting on it. "You know my husband is also a cook, I'm sure you two would get along well," she said, but my face cringed at the sudden word "husband?" I questioned in a surprised tone. Y/n then nodded her head "Yep, he's in the cooking business too, maybe you too can have a cook off sometime," she said. "Huh, maybe," I said quickly and quietly as I finished frosting the cupcakes. I took out a box for the cupcakes and gave y/n the order, "here you go!" I said. Y/n appeared to be taking out her wallet from her pocket, "how much?" She asked expectantly only for me to push the wallet away from the counter, "consider it a thank you for making my morning today," I said. Y/n was speculation yet had an elated look on her face "wow, what's the catch?" She asked. I stared at her with a silly expression while contemplating what to say next "we could exchange numbers?" I asked, "deal" she said as she immediately took out her phone and we exchanged numbers. When y/n was about to leave she turned towards me and said "It was love-ly meeting you" she said smirking while she exited the cafe, I giggled at the little joke she made.I got in contact with y/n as soon as I was done with work and she felt more comfortable talking to me about herself, I knew where she worked, her address, her favorite foods, she likes to hang out in the library sometimes, and I got her social media. I made a fake account and scrolled past different social media platforms to try and find her. I screenshot most of her photos and carefully examine every detail on every single one of them. I learned she became a vegetarian 3 years ago, I examined the kind of books she likes, the kind of stores she shops at, her favorite animals, her parent's names, her work schedule, her friends, and information about her husband. I loved everything about her already, she was captivating and her presence alone had me in a chokehold. I wanted to learn everything about her, I wanted her to love me just as I love her, to see me the way I see her, but that wasn't possible with her husband in the way. I went to her husband's accounts on social media and saw that he owned a small restaurant near my bakery. As I was looking through his page my thoughts were interrupted when I heard thunder from outside my bedroom window, I looked around my room to see if anyone was there. My breathing escalated as I put my hands against my heart, scanning my surroundings for anything there. I began to calm down when I realized nobody was in my room, and I took a deep breath of relief. "False alarm" I said quietly, putting my computer away and wrapping the blankets around me trying to go to sleep.
