The Night King looked at the relaxed Siggy and nodded in agreement.

While eating, Xiji remembered something and said with some guilt: I don’t know if grandma and the others will be angry if they know we left without saying goodbye. Grandma also said she would make some cooked meat for me to take away.

When the Night King heard his words, he paused with his chopsticks, then started eating as if nothing had happened, and said lightly: It shouldn't be the case.

When Xiji heard him say this, he felt comforted for a moment. He nodded repeatedly and said in agreement: I think so too. Grandma is such a nice person, how could she be angry because we left without saying hello.

The Night King looked at Xiji silently. His originally ugly face looked less ugly because of his calmness.

There were no pursuers, no external enemies, and the Night King was by his side. After walking for a whole day, Xiji fell asleep as soon as he touched the bed.

The Night King sat under the candlelight and looked at the sleeping Xiji, with an unpredictable expression on his face. Finally, he sneered and murmured: It's better not to let this little brother know about those things, so as not to scare him. Anyway, it's their own fault, isn't it?

Miao'er lay on the ground with blood-stained clothes, looking at his former home which was all red due to the fire. He could hear the screams of the villagers in his ears and closed his eyes in despair.

When Xiji woke up the next day, he felt pain all over his body. He gritted his teeth and got up, only to find that the Night King, who was supposed to sleep beside him, was gone.

Xiji thought that the Night King must have gone out to do something, so he went to wash up, dragging his body that looked like he had been beaten up. When Xiji came out of the washroom, he saw the Night King sitting at the table, and breakfast was placed in front of him.

When Xiji sat opposite the Night King and prepared to have breakfast, he found that the Night King seemed to have smeared something on his face, leaving a fierce scar, making him look like someone who was not easy to mess with.

Xiji was very curious about how the Night King got this scar. He kept staring at him during the whole meal. He seemed to want to ask, but he didn't dare to ask.

The Night King seemed unaware of Xiji's curiosity and ate his meal calmly. When he was almost done, he looked at Xiji and said, "Let's leave here after breakfast."

Xiji nodded without objection, looking at the scar on the Night King's face, as if he wanted to say something but hesitated.

Seeing Xiji so curious, the Night King didn't keep him in suspense and said directly: This is made from the juice of a plant. It was originally discovered by my guards. That kind of plant is rare and uncommon. I found it by chance on the mountain there this time, so I tried to make some, but I didn't expect it to be so suitable.

Upon hearing this, Xiji looked at his face carefully. He didn't know how the Night King did it, or if the plant was just so magical. The scar looked like it had grown after the Night King was injured, and it made his originally handsome face look even more fierce.

Xiji seemed eager to try it out. He also wanted to make his face look more manly, but he thought that he might not have enough time, so he decided to wait until the next chance.

Thinking of this, Xiji stopped worrying about it. After finishing his breakfast, he followed the Night King downstairs.

It was not known whether it was because it was still early or because there were not many people in the inn, but when Xiji and his friends arrived at the lobby, they saw no one else except the boss who was settling the bill at the counter.
