Noah's POV
Until now, hindi pa rin ako pinapansin ni Amara. Like, no matter what I do, she keeps avoiding me. Tapos she always passes by me kahit kita naman niyang I’m waiting for her to come near.
Like now, kahit anong pagpapapansin ko, dedma talaga siya. Pero when Lira talks to me, dun lang siya tumitingin, but she looks away agad when she sees me or Lira looking back.
It’s been days na since I unfollowed Lira. In-accept ko lang naman siya para matigil na, but pagkauwi ko nun, I unfollowed and blocked her right away.
“You’re so quiet, Amara?” Levi asked her, but she just turned and smiled, wala kaming nakuha na sagot from her. Ugh, I miss you, boss. Bati na tayo, please.
My knees are weak na, akala ko pa naman tatanda tayong bati.
“Bro, galit pa rin siya sa’yo. Kawawa ka naman,” Levi whispered, but I just elbowed him before walking towards Amara. Pero tumayo agad siya and went to sit beside Gemma, who was busy talking.
We’re all in a circle right now, just talking about random stuff.
I can’t take this anymore, I’m gonna force her to talk to me. Dapat last time pa kami nagkaayos, but she keeps avoiding me, and lately, tambak pa tayo ng work.
“Amara, let’s talk. I’ll wait for you outside,” I said seriously, fixing my necktie para kunwari cool. Pero truth is, I’m shaking kasi I’m so nervous. What if my boss punches me?
I walked out without waiting for her answer, para hindi nila ma-notice na fake yung serious mode ko.
When I got outside, she followed me agad, so I turned to face her. Forgive me, boss.
“Why are you mad at me? Tell me, kasi I don’t know na bakit you’ve been ignoring me and avoiding me,” I asked seriously. Pero walang reaction from her, she just raised her eyebrow at me.
Sorry na kasi.
“Sino nagsabing galit ako?” she asked, her eyebrow still raised, and naka-akimbo pa siya. Her feisty side, grabe, nakakakilig and nakakakaba at the same time.
“Wala, but based on what I’m seeing and how you’re acting, mukha kang galit…” I said with a grin. “Annoyed…” I added, moving closer. “And a little jealous?” I teased, leaning down to meet her eye-to-eye, and she seemed surprised by that.
She quickly backed away, giving me her signature taray look.
“What’s it to you? I feel like being annoyed, and jealous? Why would I be jealous? Even if you add or follow all the girls in the world on your 5-follower account, I won’t get jealous!” she said, in a hushed tone, kasi people in the hallway, pati classmates namin, were already looking.
“Really?” I teased more. She was about to walk away, but I pulled her closer again. “Sorry na, I only did it para tumigil na siya, but pag-uwi ko, I unfollowed her agad.”
“Like I care,” she muttered, trying to get my hand off her. “Let go before I punch you in the face,” she threatened, so I let go quickly.
“Look at this, namula na naman wrist ko because of you,” she said, giving me a death glare. I laughed, took her wrist, and started massaging it gently.
“Because of the way you’re acting, I can’t help but fall for you,” I blurted out, totally thinking I only said it in my head.
You could see the shock in her eyes, and then her whole face turned red, especially her ears.
“Oh wow, I actually said it out loud? Akala ko in my head lang,” I said, letting go of her wrist and putting my hands in my pockets.
“W-What did you say?” she asked, still in shock. I laughed softly and looked her straight in the eye.
“I was only planning to make up with you, but I didn’t expect na aamin rin ako.”
“But why?” she asked, obviously confused.
“What do you mean?” I asked back.
“Why me?”
“Biglang tumibok yung heart ko for you, and it said, ‘I love you, Amara,’ ganun lang,” I said, smiling. Her reaction was like she was annoyed, as if she thought I was being super cheesy.
“I’m serious,” she said, clearly irritated, about to walk away again, but syempre, I pulled her back again. This girl has zero patience.
“I’m serious, ha. Do I look like I’m joking? Look at my hand, it’s shaking,” I said, showing her my hand, which was actually shaking from nervousness.
“If your heart talaga said that ‘I love you, Amara’ thing,” she said, walking closer, making me step back. She had a different grin this time. “Then how did it say it loves me?” she asked, with a teasing smile, as if she didn’t believe me.
This wasn’t part of my plan. All I wanted was to make up with her, but I’m serious about my confession.
“It’s simple. I built a home in my heart just for you,” I said, but she looked confused, so I sighed and explained more.
“That’s why my heart said, ‘I love you, Amara,’ kasi you’re the only one who lives here,” I said, pointing to my chest. You could see from her reaction na she's trying to hide her kilig, but if she keeps hiding it, lalo lang mamumula ears niya.
“I don’t know what to say, Noah. Bahala ka sa buhay mo,” she said, turning her back again, but I knew she was smiling already.
“Bati na tayo?” I asked, but she just kept walking back to the room. “Hey! I’m not done yet,” I called out, pulling her back again. “Can I court you?”
Whoa! NOAH IS COURTING?!
Eyyyyy!!!!
Just say yes!!!
“I’ll think about it,” she said with a playful smirk. My madam talaga, grabe mang-asar.
