Sera's POV

A single word stirred up a buzz in the academy. Though not in a literal sense, it quickly became the topic of conversation among everyone.

It's really a big deal for them.

But it's literally in the academy's name, School of Arcanes. Why is everyone so shocked?

Kaya ngayon, after the day of the elemental trial, I wore my uniform na. The 'normal' uniform is a crisp white polo with a ribbon tied at the collar—each color representing your elemental magic: scarlet red for fire, aqua blue for water, emerald green for air, copper brown for earth, daffodil yellow for light, and ash gray for dark. The black skirt matches the blazer, which has a purple trim along the edges and the academy's logo stitched on the left. Also, the logo's color varies depending on the sect: bronze for the Luminaries, silver for the Nexians, and gold for the Ascendants.

As for my uniform, it's the same blazer and skirt, but mine features an aqua blue ribbon and a purple-accented logo.

Originally, it was a 4-storey building, with each floor designated for a different sect order and the ground floor as a lounge. But since I'm an Arcane, the headmaster had the building refurbished into a 5-storey one. Now, I occupy the new floor—alone. Of course, ako lang naman ang Arcane. But maybe it's for the best, so no one gets harmed because of me.

On my way to the cafeteria hall—where all students are supposed to eat—the moment I entered, the noise level noticeably spiked. I ignored the whispers and walked toward the counter, emotionless, to order my breakfast. Thanks to my air magic, I had already picked out a secluded spot in the corner, far from the crowd, where I could eat in peace.

After paying for my meal, I headed to the quiet area I had chosen.

By then, their conversations were no longer whispers—they were loud enough to hear. Annoying.

I quickly cast an enchantment using my air magic, manipulating the sound waves around me. An invisible air barrier formed, muffling the noise within my space. Finally, silence—at least to me. The cafeteria was still buzzing outside my barrier, and I could sense everyone, including the stares and glances coming from one of the tables.

Four of them—two guys and two girls.

The guy with blonde hair was blatantly staring at me while the two girls with him seemed to be scolding him—probably telling him to stop. But he just smirked. Kaya napailing at napahawak sa ulo ang dalawa, while the other guy, with brown hair, continued eating, pero napailing rin.

One of the girls had ash-gray hair and pale skin, which made me think she was a vampire. The other had soft, granola-colored hair and warm, beige-toned skin. Both were undeniably beautiful. The guys were good-looking too, though I couldn't quite guess the origins of the other three.

Like they are admiring them. I don't know for what but there's admiration to their eyes.

Nung tumingin ako sa table nila, I locked eyes with the vampire girl, who looked shocked to see me watching.

They are so weird.

Mabilis kong tinapos ang pagkain dahil it's almost time for my first class.

-------------

The first class went well. And of course, there's an introduce yourself, which I hate but I have no choice since I am new.
