Footsteps echoes through the dark lit room. Silhouettes of two people casting a shadow from the balcony as one of the two dragged the other inside. Each steps were crossed heavy heartedly. Whether it's from adrenaline wearing off or the damn pain in her chest, she couldn't tell. All she knew was that the person she carried throughout the dead of night is right by her side.

Heaving was one thing, she had never been this exhausted before. Well not since the gruesome training she endured to be better. But this feeling was different, and too unpleasant. For now she can relent, she needs to put the girl she's holding onto the bed. And later, maybe she will figure it out.

Thumping as quietly as possible, her feet reaches a comfortable looking bed, the nearest from the balcony. It is the carried girl's room after all. She herself admits wanting to drop whatever she's holding and lays on it without a care. But for some reason, she just couldn't even when her agitation kept skyrocketed. Instead she let down the girl she carries and tucked her in for the night, she did so carefully this time. Too headful actually, that it only gives more anxiety to her shaking arms. Gazing upon the sleeping figure, she had hopes to stays longer but the pain had jolted once again causing her stand to waver. But she is a fighter, if she can fight one on one with the dreadful piece of- she grunts at another jolts of pain. She can surely fend off this turmoil.

Huffing, she went out the room and planned to reached her basement without meeting any more troublesome issues. But she should have known some of those critters would follow her regardless. Sadly, she only realised their presence when those flying bugs had already gotten in through the door she opened in a hurry. "Leave." one word escapes through her uneven breaths. It sounded low and raspy. Did she run out of liquid, perhaps? Quite unlikely, she always made sure to be ready for everything before commencing any mission... drats! Did she left the house without taking an injection? No wonder! Just how long had it been since she taken it?!

The basement grew evermore silent as she recollects despite the occasional squeak of those bugs. It then dawned on her of the time frame. Indeed she had taken it regularly timed but having to deal with a certain airheaded stalker, she had slowly dropped the habit. Why? Just why? She couldn't understand.

Ever since taking in that stupid 'princess', things just began sprouting another branch. The girl staggers close to the lone wooden table. On top were a myriad of weapons for her mission. A particular word resounding in her mind. Right, it was all for the mission. Her one true goal of seeking the people responsible for putting her in this gutter in the first place to begin with! Had it not been for them, she could have lived a happy fulfilling life, she could have everything she ever wanted by the snap of her finger. But it all changes when they engulfed her homes in smog and everything she cares were swept by tidal waves. Now she got no home, she have no identity, she has no family.

But why... why is that now of all times would her heart ache. Didn't they killed it when her home was ravaged in flames? Didn't she killed it when she vowed to take revenge? So why is it now... that pain seeps in?

By now, she lost counts of how many ache her heart thrums. Taking in another of those inconveniences, her body falls as she was nearing the far end of her planning table. Where she had placed her many documents. Her legs was out cold, it couldn't take another step. It has reached its limit.

Her body shivers, likely a side affect from prolonged use of the injection. Her quicken and unsteady breath were also one of it. Her eyes became heavy, her ears became deaf to the yelling and screeching of concerns from those critters. Her body became numb as it droop closer to the cements inviting comfort. Thinking how pathetic she is exposing such fragility to those bugs, how vulnerable she is in this state made her stomach churns.

The girl began crawling when dragging her feet was not plausible. She crawls but the hidden place where she puts those medicine was nowhere in reach. Even if she tries to convey her plight or even plead to those flying creatures would be for naught. Her body won't be functioning properly until it had subside. So to lessened the burden on this scarred vessel of hers, she let herself drown into abyss. The next thing she knew, her vision had became dull and blurry. She decides to let darkness lul her to slumber and ignoring everything else, her gasping breathing became shallower. Her heavy eyelids were prone to flutter out soon, then she fainted.
