Dsuguri'Olyi awoke as he did every Jyasomnus, lying in a familiar dent, underneath Wagsri'Lok's carriage. It seemed that his bout of sleepwalking was never ending. He slowly started to stretch as he climbed from beneath the carriage to the open air of the large cavern. Dsuguri'Olyi looked around, hoping to notice Yakistae'Jak, the vale's militaria, walking to her store and cop a few eggs for breakfast. Unfortunately she must have already finished her chores for the Jyasomnus and was at her store as the cavern remained empty.
Dsuguri'Olyi started the slow walk back to his house while gathering small Ikilioas that grew from the crevices of the cavern walls. He stopped as up ahead a figure appeared to round the corner of the East cavern's entrance, Yakistae'Jak. He broke into a grin as she approached. Quickly he being to place his third and sixth finger together before bringing them to his lips and offering a small bow to show his respects. Yakistae'Jak laughed as she saw him performing such a ceremoniously greeting.
"Why are you doing that?" she asked smiling, reaching for and straightening the bottom of her dress.
"It's the only proper way to address a lovely Jak as yourself," he smirked as they locked eyes "Plus it never hurts to be in good favor with the mugitar."
"So that's it then," she sighed as she looked into the basket she was carrying "You must want some eggs for breakfast." her smile seemed to diminish slightly as she returned her gaze to him." I want much more, but I can settle for the eggs," as he stared he saw her skin start to redden across her face as she hurriedly look away.
"You shouldn't say such things to a Jak, if someone heard you, you'd be punished," her gaze remained at her feet as she spoke to him "I'd hate to see that happen to you."Dsuguri'Olyi reached for her and grabbed her hand before bringing it to his forehead and drooping down to one knee, "I'd face any punishment if it meant that I could be in your presence. There isn't anything that would keep me from you." He brought her hand to his mouth and lightly kissed the back of her soft hand, "Justerias is coming soon and you'll become Yakistae'Zia, and-"
He couldn't bare himself to finish what he wanted to say but looking up at Yakistae'Jak he saw that she knew his desires. She stared so intently at him that he felt as if at any moment he would crumble under her gaze.
She reached down and brought her hand to his face and cupped his cheek. The fur on her palm was incredibly soft and smelt of the mosses by the river where she spends her Jyasomnus collecting the spriligia's eggs. Dsuguri'Olyi closed his eyes and leaned into her touch before she abruptly pulled away.
He opened his eyes to see her focused on something behind him. Not something, he saw, someone, Zatorika'Olyi, Wagsri-Lok's son. He was looking over his Suviea's carriage and hadn't noticed them by the East entrance.
Yakistae'Jak hurriedly reached into her basket and pulled out five spriligia eggs, she gave them to Dsuguri'Olyi before quickly returning to the East entrance and disappearing around a corner. Dsuguri'Olyi knew that he wouldn't be so lucky avoiding Zatorika'Olyi. He stole one last glance where Yakistae'Jak once stood before walking over towards Zatorika'Olyi.
Zatorika'Olyi was one of the biggest men in the entire vale of Threifodlt. It was said that every eligible woman from Dias to Imas to Zias wanted to have him take her. Zatorika'Olyi knew this and often worked shirtless while small crowds of women of Threifodlt, even Lynis, watched in awe. Despite of all this, Zatorika'Olyi was Dsuguri'Olyi best friend since they were babes.
