Work was long for Harry the next morning, Cher was sick and customers piled in left and right. He was beginning to get overwhelmed with everything as he took orders the best that he could without any mess ups. He was in the middle of trying not to yell at a man who was being rude and cutting the line when the door chimed again. Harry didn't dare look at the door yet due to frustration of the rude customer disrespecting him.
"How are you out of strawberry pastries? You guys usually have some and now they are nowhere to be seen and I walked all the way here." The man yelled. He was a tall chubby man in his 40's wearing golfing attire as he spat at Harry.
"Sir, it's just been a busy day and we have not had our truck delivered yet to do restock."Harry tried saying his curls falling in his face.
"That is not my problem young man, as a company you guys should get it together and hire more people capable of doing the job, in a timely fashion." He yelled knocking some buns that were on a cart in front of the register.
The customers in line started yelling at the man in return saying how rude he was being. They were all getting impatient with the man as he stood there being rude to Harry.
"Sir, if you dont stop I will have to ask you to leave, our truck deliveries are scheduled to come on a specific day and it is with a separate company. It's not in my power to get it here quick enough to the speed you expect. If it concerns you that badly and you are that upset, make them at home so I can take care of the next person in line." Harry finally yelled, feeling disappointed he had to yell at a customer.
Suddenly the old man became even more angry and took it upon himself to grab Harry by the shirt. He pushed Harry violently against one of the small stoves that had been on very roughly. He hit his head hard against it and screamed when he had got burned badly by the fire. The old man grabbed his drink that he had got ordered and through it on Harry. Harry felt his eyes water when he jumped from the burn of the liquid as it hit the new burn mark on his arm.
Suddenly the old man was being grabbed by someone he couldn't see properly and slammed on the register counter with his hand behind his back.
"Apologize right now!" His rescuer yelled.
"Never, get your hands off of me!" The old man was yelling.
"Apologize, and get out. He asked you to leave." His rescuer yelled anger coming from his voice that gave Harry chills.
"Piss off!" The old man yelled with hatred.
His rescuer punched the old man in the face hard in retaliation. He saw blood coming from the old man's nose. His rescuer then grabbed the old man and flung him out of the bakery. He grabbed a spare drink Harry had made for one of the customers and tossed on the man.
"You are not allowed back here do you understand. If you come back here I will have you thrown in jail faster then you could then about doing something like this again." His rescuer yelled.
A round of applause was seen heard from the other customers in line, before Harry ended up fainting on the floor.
He didn't know how long it had been, but when he woke up next he was in a place he didn't recognize. He was laying in a couch he didn't recognize as his eyes fluttered open still in a bit of pain.
"Thank heavens you are awake," the voice said. "Im glad you are alive."
When Harry's eyes was finally able to see straight minus the stinging pain he got from them. He saw a boy he did not know that made him get nervous and scared at first.
