you were always gifted. perfect (or almost perfect marks) in school, a pretty, petite but strong figure, and your ability of photographic memory. but, what you were always praised for was your athleticism.
due to your amazing memory, you could pick up on any talent once you saw it. how to shoot a basketball? check. the correct way to spike in volleyball? check. how to dribble in soccer? check.
you remember the first time you discovered your memory was amazing.
"mom, dad, i wanna learn how to do that!" your grubby 6-year-old hands pointed at the television as the world's best striker, noel noa, scored yet another goal.
"sweetie, it would be much easier if you did dancing or gymnastics. soccer isn't a girl sport." said your mother, sighing when she heard you pout. "fine, if you really want to try, why don't you try shooting and dribbling in our yard?"
you giggled as you rushed out the door, your parents following closely behind. at home, you didn't have a soccer ball, but you simply just took a yellow and blue volleyball from your garage to bring outside. you set it neatly on the grass, raised your leg, and shot straight at the fence. it creaked as the ball hit it's wooden boards. you ran towards it, kicking it out from behind the bushes where it had bounced into, and brought it back to your parents.
"see, mom, dad! i can do it!" you said proudly as you held up the muddy ball.
"we can see that, sweetie. now, its time for bedtime, mom will go with you to get ready." f/n said, taking the now brown ball into the kitchen to wash it off.
"but.. i wanna play more!" you whined, once again pouting as you stomped your foot. m/n crouched down to be at your height.
"you can play more tomorrow, how about that, y/n?" she lead you upstairs.

later, when you were sound asleep in your bed, m/n was on a call.
"yes, yes. no, i don't think so. she's been acting the same as always, but i don't know how she was able to.. yes, i'll bring the phone over to f/n." she passed the phone to f/n, who set it on speaker.
"i can't be certain, so please come by the clinic tomorrow. but, i think your daughter has photographic memory."
☆彡★彡☆彡★彡
in the morning, as you were rushed into the car, you asked your mom,
"mom, where are we going?"
your mother answered, "for a quick checkup. y/n, can you strap yourself in? we're late." you were confused.
"to the doctor?" you asked, as the click of your seat belt was heard.
"yes, sweetheart, now let's get going." as she started driving off, you asked her once again,
"but i checked the calendar two weeks ago. i'm not supposed to have any checkups until january, and it said that we're supposed to be going out for lunch with my cousins today. if we go to the doctor, we'll miss it." you explained, very confused.
"don't worry about it sweetie, it's alright. the lunch was cancelled, your aunt has the flu." she said as she pulled into the clinic parking lot.
as you walked into the clinic together, a cheerful voice met your ears. "ms m/n and miss y/n! how nice to see you again! please, come this way." the doctor ushered you into the nearest room, closing the curtain quickly. "i need to do some tests."
☆彡★彡☆彡★彡 (for the sake of some people who might not be comfortable with needles/blood tests and other things that happen during a checkup, i'll be leaving that part out.)
"i see. yes, this confirms what i was suspecting." the doctor says, nodding as she examines the results one last time. "yes, your daughter has photographic memory."
"what does that mean?" you ask timidly, not sure whether it was a good thing or not.
"oh, sorry, dear. it's basically that when once you look at something, you have it in your head perfectly and if you have the talent, you can replicate it in real life. for example, your parents tell me you're intrested in soccer." says the doctor, smiling warmly at you.
"um, yeah! i like soccer!" you say excitedly. "it lets me kick the ball like bam! and wham! it's so fun!"
"well, when you shot the ball towards the fence, were you envisioning anything in particular?" she asks.
"i.. um.." you trail off as you think. your mother and the doctor looks at you attentively. "oh yeah! i envisioned myself in noel noa's place as he shot the ball towards the goal in my head!"
the doctor nods again. "thought so. you see, if you envision yourself in someone's place while doing something, you will probably be able to replicate it."
"is that.. a good thing?" you ask curiously.
"yes, a very good thing! you'll be able to memorise many different things in the future, and have many different talents!" the doctor says, smiling at your perplexed expression. "you see, you're going to have a great future!"
