A Story wherein Orm is a skilled Architect and assigned a new project in a distant country where Lingling lives. (Top Orm)
Knocking...
"Who's that?" The Woman called out and lazily stood up, heading to open the door.
"Ling, you're kidding me, right? I said I'd come by!" Ying said, rolling her eyes at her bestfriend's bored expression.
Lingling steps aside to make her friend enter before walking back to the couch to resume reading her book.
The woman with short hair sighed and slumped down beside her. "Ugh, you're reading that same magazine again?"
"Think I can take a break for a couple months? I'm too lazy to job hunt right now. Just graduated, gotta enjoy being lazy while I can." Lingling mumbled without looking at her.
"Okay, fine. But what are we gonna do here? Your place is so boring. Let's go out!"
The long-haired woman shut the magazine and looked at her with a sigh. "Honestly, I'm not feeling up to going out." She said. "Just go by yourself, I'd rather stay in. I don't like seeing people."
"Seriously, you're such a homebody!" Ying puffed her breath out before continuing, "Look, it's late, people are asleep. Let's just get a drink and go home."
"Nah, I'm out. Sleep time." Lingling then stood up and started walking, making her friend groan. "You're such an introvert!" She also stood up. "Guess, I'll just go home and... hey!"
Lingling stopped, turning to her. "What?"
"I'm not coming over tomorrow, gotta pick up my cousin at the airport. So, just see me at the window."
The Older one just nodded without uttering a word then proceeded to her room.
They've been neighbors since they were kids, their houses facing each other with empty space, like a two-house distance and they can see into each other's bedrooms when their windows are open.

At the Airport.
"Hey! You're finally here! My cool cousin is in the house!" Ying shrieked out of excitement as she practically jumped up and down.
Orm chuckled and adjusted her head cap before slinging an arm around her cousin's shoulder as they walked towards the car. "How's life my dear cousin?"
"It's still the same work-cycle. Work, go home, repeat. Sometimes, I just wanna quit but got bills to pay." Ying said letting out a tired laugh. "How about you?"
Orm shrugged. "Same as you."
"But at least you get to travel anywhere."
Orm nodded pursing her lips thoughtfully. "Only if they assigned me to a specific location." She then side glancing her. "You have the opportunity to travel, you just choose not to."
"I want to save up a lot of money before I travel. Plus, my best friend is too lazy to go anywhere with me. It's no fun traveling alone, it's much better with a friend."
"You have a best friend?"
"Yup. She's my neighbor, you'll meet her later."
Orm grinned. "That's cool. Is she pretty?"
Ying narrowed her eyes at her grinning cousin. "Don't even think about it, Orm. She's not someone you can just charm easily."
The younger woman's smile widened even more. "Well, That just makes it even more of a challenge, which is kinda fun."
