chapter 3: An Unexpected Journey

10 years later....

Alan's POV

Time went by in a flash. Already in my mid 20's and raven and I are still surviving in the wastelands on eidas-7. you could say that this motel has become our home, despite the Naytiba that lurk about . but i didn't mind. raven was here and thanks to her training i became a skilled fighter. Together we took out some elite Naytibas while out scavenging for resources in the city. once and a while we came across some camps left behind by the sentinels where we could use and rest for a while before continuing our trek.

We even came across some sentinels that were also looting for resources as we made easy work on them. Taking what raven called firearms like the rifles, she showed me how to properly shoot and load the slug rounds in. it would give me the edge in battle if i wasn't up close to my opponent. we even got lucky to come across a hidden lab where we came across a couple of watches that we could use to communicate if we were separated.

whatever materials we found, we brought back to the motel camp. raven, who had a cryo blade as her weapon, taught me how to modified my katana with weapon cores and advanced polymer Materials to make the blade glow in a blue hue. i smiled at the results as i sheathed the cold blade on my back as i could feel the chill through my clothes. With her knowledge i even modified my rifle to have a scope and a quick eject magazine for quick and easy reload.  Things seemed to go well for us...until the one day came that changed everything.

I came back to the motel quietly as i could after patrolling, trying to improve on my stealth as i climb up the stairs, not making much noise as  i reached the 9th floor where our camp was. there i saw my mother sitting in a mediating state. i smiled as i crept up ever so slowly to her. closer and closer my heart beat was beating faster as i thought the sound of it could give away my position. i was just five feet behind her as i was about to raise my voice...

"don't even think about it." she said. i froze as let out a sigh of defeat. raven looked over her shoulder with a smirk as i rubbed the back of my head.

"how you know i was behind you?"

"im your mother. i know everything." she stood up. "where were you?"

"ha. i thought you knew everything." i grinned. raven scowled as she walked past me. "but to answer your question i found another fusion cell in an old generator by the plaza." i pulled it out of my pocket and set it on the bench. raven smiled at the results.

"well done. this will keep the place alive for while longer." she said.

"ill go out again shortly for another resource run. just wanted to bring that back quickly in case i came across any naytiba." i said. "i do wonder about where these sentinels are coming from."

"yes. it is wishful thinking that we could eliminate all the traitors from the source. avenged the human race. that's our goal." raven said.

"if mother-sphere wasn't so selfish." i shook my head as i look at the map wondering where to check next. there was a street that link between some stores and a place called a library. maybe i could find something there. "alright I'm heading off."

"ill be on comms if you need me." raven tapped her wrist; indicating the watch. i smiled and nodded before i head off. i wanted to make the daylight count as much as possible as i wasn't really a fan of the night. i left the building and jogged to the location i had in mind.

EVE's POV

It was all peaceful at Xion ever since lily and i brought back the last hyper cell to power up the city, giving it life it once had. to see thousands of humans talking, laughing, sharing stories was a sight to see. i never thought i would be in this position, being part naytiba and part andros-eidos. but it worth it to save the human race. if what Adam said was true, we could slowly bring earth back to life like it was before the wars.
