Everyone screamed when they all heard the elderly man's voice, some forgotten that he was still here.
"God, you scared me!" Ellie exclaimed.
"Apologies." He responded. Then, a question occurred to his head. "Are you guys heading somewhere by chance?" He asked the group.
"Yeah to the Ever Deeper forest! And it's just on that path." Jake pointed at the pathway.
"I'm afraid that's not the correct way to the forest." Alec said to him. Jake looked very confused.
"B-but, the map I saw showed us the way -" Jake quickly checked his pockets, but the map wasn't inside either of them. "Fuck." He mumbled.
"Jake, what's wrong?" Tom asked.
"I.. don't have the map." He answered quietly.
"WHAT?!" Tom yelled.
"Hey! Keep your voice down!"
"You lost the map, didn't you?" Ellie angrily said as she walked over to Jake.
"That woman when she kidnapped me! She fucking grabbed it out of my hand and now it's gone.." Jake sobbed. "I'm so sorry, Ellie!" He tried to clear his tears away, but he couldn't. This was the one chance for Jake to make things right with Ellie.
"Hmmm. I suppose there is a way for you guys to go to the Ever Deeper forest faster." Alec said to him.
"There is?.." Jake sniffed as he asked.
"Yes, but you'll have to go to the sparkling river in order to continue your pathway to there." Alec replied.
"What's the sparkling river? And how do we go to it?" Tom raises an eyebrow while asking.
"I can't teleport to it if I don't know where it is." Aiden said.
"I can create a portal. That can take us there." Hunter responded.
"Wait, you can create portals?" Jake asked, looking surprised.
"Yeah. I can." Hunter responded.
"Then how about you make a portal to the Ever Deeper forest, huh?" Ellie said.
"Well, I would have to be close to the location of it. That's how my power mainly works. But if the sparkling river is near us, I can take us there instead." Hunter responded to Ellie.
"It is, don't worry. A matter of fact. It's right below you all, I would have let you dig your way down there, but you already have that sorted out." Alec explained. "Farewell, Fairies. Have a good journey." Alec turned away and left while walking with his daughter Fiore.
"Hope you don't make it out alive!" Fiore exclaimed happily to the group.
"Fiore!" Alec yelled.
The group all turned to each other.
"What's wrong with that girl?" Ally said, looking disgusted.
"No clue." Hunter replied while shaking his head. Silence came as the wind blew. All of them were just standing outside. "I'm only ready when you are all ready. Hunter said.
"Sigh, something is just bothering me right now." Gabby stated. "Didn't Tess blew us to the right direction of the Ever Deeper forest, or was she only mistaken?"
"Perhaps she was. But I mean, at least we already found another route that can lead us there." Aiden said, smiling.
"And what will happen after the sparkling river? Where can we go next?" Gabby questioned.
"All the elderly man said was that we take the sparkling river and nothing more. Maybe we'll see the forest after that." Jake responded.
"God, I hope so, I just want this all to be over. We've already been in enough trouble." Ellie said, crossing her arms.
