"What do you mean?!" Pete was confused and his hangover made it worse, "as you heard, someone was messing with your car right before the event, did you drive it last night?" "No no, I was with Vegas, but wait are you certain that it was before the event????" "Yes, where did you leave it?" "It's still in the parking lot," Pete was already heading outside to go home,

"Okay now listen to me, do not get into that car until we make sure that nothing is damaged, I will take it to the mechanic today and get back to you, but for now just call an Uber or let your boyfriend drive you, do you understand?" "Yes, I understand, I have to go now I'll call you later," Pete hung up and thousands of questions immediately jumped to his head, if his worries are true, then it means one thing only.

Upon his arrival at his uncle's mansion, vegas could already feel the curious eyes trying to look through him, and undress some of his thoughts, but all their attempts go to waste cause Vegas is simply not readable. He walked into the meeting room where his beloved family were already waiting, as well as his father, "Ahhh Vegas, I almost thought you wouldn't come, take a seat," Korn said, with his usual smile and kind gestures, it had always amazed vegas how different his father and uncle are, well, from the outside at least.

He sat down as told and the room was dead silent, but it was still loud and clear to him, he let out a small chuckle and turned to his cousins, "I know you have questions, go on you can ask them, or wait! Did you already do your research?? Is that why everyone is silent?" "No one knows anything Vegas, we were just taken aback by the sudden news, we just hope he's...good enough," Kinn explained but it only made Vegas laugh more, "don't worry, he's perfect!" "That's enough, we are here to discuss business, not your personal affairs, we will get to that part when the time is right," Gun said closing the discussion, "of course Father." Vegas was not stupid, he could read the fear between the lines coming out of Kinn's throat, which was exactly what Vegas needed.

The meeting went by peacefully, but when Vegas almost thought he could get away without any questions, his dumb cousin walked in, "When is the wedding? I demand to know!" Tankhun screamed getting everyone's attention, "perfect..." Vegas mumbled to himself, "Khun, what are you doing here?" Korn spoke, in his familiar calm tone, "My cousin is getting married, I think I deserve to know the details!"

Vegas was about to say something but his father beat him up to it, "No one's getting married," he spoke strictly, 'the difference again' "not until we have a proper meeting with him and his family, and settle the chaos arising from Tay′s, until then I want everyone to mind their business," he then turned to his son and gestured him to leave, and so they did.

The ride back home was a bit awkward, vegas was not enjoying his father's calm reaction to the situation, the anger and rage is far more merciful than this guessing game his mind was playing, his mind suddenly wandered to Pete, 'Is he still in his place? Or did he leave, did he have breakfast or just coffee as usual-'
"Vegas!" His father's impatient voice broke his thread of thoughts, "Yes?" "Are you listening to me? I asked about the date," "what date?"

"Of the meeting, with that boy's family, I need to fit it in my schedule," again with the odd reaction, "I- we haven't decided on it yet, but I'll get back to you as soon as we do," "okay, just make it quick, are you meeting him today?" "Yes, for dinner," Gun nodded and added one more thing, "the look on their faces...well done son," he smirked but his eyes were still glued to his phone, probably thinking about something,

Vegas wanted to jump out of the car.

Pete spent the rest of the day busying himself with work, and by the time he finished, the sun was already sinking into the horizon. He took a quick shower and put on some casual yet fancy clothes, something inside him wanted to look good for this dinner, his phone rang and he picked up, "hello," "Hy, where are you?" Vegas asked, "My place, I decided to work from home today," "alright then I'm on my way," after he hung up Pete realised something,

'But he doesn't know my address...'

Vegas knows his address,

He knows more than he should.

Pete was waiting outside for Vegas when someone else showed up, someone he certainly did not expect to see so soon, Tay stepped out of his car not looking pleased at all, "perfect" Pete whispered, "Listen you filthy parasite!" Tay was walking fast towards him and looked ready to kill Pete in place, " I do not know who you think you are, but I will not let you take him from me, he's my boyfriend!" Tay was talking with so much fake confidence it made Pete feel nauseous, he hates fakeness.

"What the hell are you talking about??" "I'm talking about how you kissed my boyfriend in front of everyone! You disgusting, filthy, whore!" Pete grinned and boldly walked closer, 'his college self wouldn't believe it' "and you are delusional," he said and watched as the flames of rage ate the man in front of him whole, "If Vegas really wanted you, why did he kiss me back and didn't run to you then? Don't you get it? You were never even an option,"

"y-you are wrong! Vegas loves me we will get married! Our families had a talk, we- he was going to propose to me last night-" "then why didn't he?" Tay′s eyes widened slightly when he realised that he didn't have an answer, Tay was still stuttering when someone decided to show up, "Pete," Vegas called for him and Pete smiled at his 'boyfriend', "Good evening love," he walked to him and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, ever so naturally,

vegas looked at the hopeless Tay briefly then looked back at the man embraced in his arms, "Is everything alright?" Pete took a quick glance at Tay,  "Yeah, Tay was just looking for answers like everyone is right now, he was about to leave anyway, right?" He asked Tay but the man only glared at him and walked away without adding a word, and then the two of them got in the car,

Pete slammed the door so hard, his fake attitude dropped immediately and got replaced with a self-pity feeling so quickly, he's slowly becoming what he hates the most, and he hates that he doesn't hate it, "that fucking bastard," he mumbled as he buckled the seat belt and undid few of his shirt buttons, "were you really going to marry him??! Like come on there must be some better options!" Vegas was listening to Pete's complaints as he started driving,

"You may have some bad blood with him but I don't, not yet at least, so I can not say that I saw anything wrong with him, but given the way he drove all the way here to ask about something that does not concern him in any way, I think that might change soon, I despise people who don't take a hint," "oh he's definitely a pro at middling in people's business that's for sure! Anyway let's just not talk about him now I don't want to ruin my mood anymore, so where are you taking us?"

"Mmm somewhere...private," Pete looked at him in silence, blinking, and Vegas could read through him, "DO NOT GET ANY WRONG IDEAS!"
Pete raised his hands in defence, "I didn't say anything, I do love privacy" "Well it's not exactly private but it's definitely chill, no one will bother us there, and we can talk comfortably," "Yeah..talk...of course,"

teasing vegas is surprisingly so fun, pete was definitely enjoying it, Vegas was not, "if I may remind you, you were the one who kissed me first, twice now, so if there's anyone who should be worried here it's me," "alright alright I'm just kidding, Jesus you're no fun!" "Or maybe you are not funny!" The two started arguing in the car like an old married couple,

I'd call it a practice.
