"We can stop here for the night." Rowan spoke, the first words shared between the two since the gas station four hours ago.

"Two beds or one?" Aliks asked, a small grin tugging at his lips as they both stepped out of the jeep, Rowan glared at him from across the hood.

"Yeah yeah, two... You're no fun." He glared back, Rowan leaned against the front of the car, watching him coldly as he walked into the front office. After a couple minutes he walked back out, a set of room keys jingling in his hand.

"What room?" Rowan asked, already making her way to grab her duffle bag from the backseat.

"102." Aliks replied, waiting for her to join him before making his way to the room. Rowan nodded, sliding her bag over her shoulder before locking the car and walking straight past Aliks to their room.

Aliks closed and locked the door behind them, turning as Rowan tossed her bag onto the bed closest to the door. He watched as she grabbed some clothes and walked to the bathroom, pushing the door closed, but it bounced back open slightly. Aliks went to the second bed and sat down, shouldering his jacket off, pausing when he noticed the cracked open door to the bathroom. His pupils dilated as her body moved back into view, her arms folding as she pulled her shirt over her head, his eyes traced the toned muscles along either side of her spine. Following the curve of her back up to her shoulders, his eyes widened slightly, seeing the fresh scar of a bite in the crook of her neck. His eyes glazed over, his mind filled with images of his own teeth making that mark on her, the sound of her heartbeat filling every one of his senses. He dropped his head into his hands, rubbing his face and running his hands along the back of his neck.

"You good?" Rowans' voice startled him, his head lifted and his eyes flashed open, still pale red and glazed over.

"Whoa. Aliks? What's wrong?" Rowan jumped, dropping the clothes she held in her hand onto the floor, taking a step back, her eyes wide.

"Yeah, just...." Aliks hesitated, trying his hardest to avoid looking at her, he stood and headed for the door. Rowan grabbed his upper arm, in a blink of an eye Rowan was slammed against the wall beside the door, Aliks held her wrists up by her head, his eyes staring into hers as black veins began to grow down his face from his eyes.

"Aliks! What the fuck?!" Rowan yelled, struggling against him, her eyes stared widely into his, like two full moons. Aliks slowly leaned closer to her, his mouth parting to reveal large razor sharp fangs extending from above his canine teeth. Rowan struggled until one of her hands slipped free, she threw him back, causing him to crash onto her bed. She stood frozen in place as he pulled himself to his feet, lifting his head to stare silently at her for another moment before vanishing, the front door swinging open and banging against the wall. Rowan flinched as wind pushed past her, she hurried to slam the door shut and lock it, looking at the dresser where the room keys had been sitting, they were gone. Rowan paused for a moment to just stare at nothing in particular, she rubbed her face and took a breath, moving to her bed and falling back onto it.

Aliks unlocked the door, looking up and down the hall before opening the door quietly and walking into the room. He paused, halfway in the door, his eyes locking on Rowan as she lay on top of the blankets, fast asleep. He closed and locked the door as he walked in, setting the keys silently on the dresser, his eyes still watching her to make sure he didn't wake her up. He walked to the bathroom next, flicking the light on and closing the door just enough to shield Rowan from the light. He rested his hands on the edge of the sink, looking up at his reflection, studying himself, noticing the blood that stained his lips, and a small drop that had pooled in the corner of his mouth. Taking his thumb he wiped the drop, then he turned the sink on and splashed water in his face, savoring the warm feeling against his cold skin. Looking back up, his eyes fixated on the reflection of Rowans' body as she rolled over, the door had creaked open just far enough for him to see her in the mirror. Slowly he turned and made his way to her bed, shutting the bathroom light off as he walked, his pupils widening in the dark lighting. He paused, standing over her, his eyes focused on her face, so peaceful. Suddenly she rolled onto her back, her eyes fluttering a bit before opening, her pupils widened dramatically as she focused on Aliks' face.
