Long ago, humans and monsters coexisted peacefully, sharing both the land and sky as their home. The humans resided in the western part of the city, whereas the monsters dwelt in the east, inside the vast and forbidding darkness of the dark forest.
The humans, being naturally fearful creatures, held great suspicion and distrust towards the monsters who lived in the shadows. Many believed the monsters to be scheming something sinister, while others found them to be docile and gentle creatures, their dark appearance nothing more than a misleading facade.
The fragile peace that had held between humans and monsters for so long shattered into a thousand pieces. The humans, fueled by fear and prejudice, declared war upon the monsters, and with their superior numbers and resources, they emerged victorious.
The humans, victorious in their one-sided conflict, demanded that the losers, the defeated monsters, confine themselves to the dark and isolated confines of the dark forest, never more to come into contact with mankind again.
Today, a whisper of caution carried through hushed conversations and anxious whispers, spreading like a tendril of fear through the hearts of the townspeople. "Whoever dares to trespass into the dark forest," they warned, "may never return." The forest, now cursed and forbidden, held a sinister aura that chilled the very air around it, its shadows stretching like grasping fingers across the land. The darkness that enveloped it was not just a lack of light, but a tangible presence that seemed to whisper of otherworldly horrors hidden within its depths.
And thus the peace that once existed between humans and monsters was shattered, replaced by a bitter and final ending. The two races were separated, the monsters condemned to dwell in the shadows and the humans left to the brightness of the daylight. The hatred, suspicion, and fear that had fueled the brief and devastating conflict would forever color their history, leaving behind scars that would never fully fade.
