CHAPTER 3- MESSY GRACE

“YOUR HIGHNESS! PLEASE WATCH YOUR TONGUE!” Said Aaron, the loyal assistant and the right hand man of King Liam.

“How do I do that? Like this?” Marga bluntly asked as she spit out her tongue and stared at it.

Aaron got peeved by the mockery of the princess but what can he do? It's not that he's allowed to kill a royalty, and she's the daughter of the man he serves!

“Y-Your majesty the king! Do you expect that there will be peace with that attitude and barbaric behaviors of her?! Please reconsider this! Perhaps we can send another princess and pretend that she is Marga—Pardon me but I am speaking in according and for the sake of the kingdom!” Said the Chancellor with a very worried look as he criticizes princess Marga.

“T-The other princess in another e-empire? I... I can't do that! They are too precious. What if the tyrant Emperor does something to my daughter?!” King Liam hesitatingly responded.

“So it's fine if it's me because I'm not precious as them?” Marga questioned. Her face is unreadable as no one can determine if she's hurt, upset, or nonchalant about what she heard as if she's just simply asking about it and nothing more.

“O-Of course not at all! P-Papa loves you all equally! I-It's just that... I-I mean I never intended you to marry off to someone you don't love but we don't have a choice because it is the empress's wish and... If you are incapable to seat as the empress because of your behavior and unwell manner, it could be better to send another princess and pretends to be Marga— however, I do not wish to sacrifice another of my children. I-If you understand what I mean.” King Liam said, flinching. He doesn't want to think that his daughter is not loved and up until now, his regret for not finding her daughter sooner still lingers stronger than ever.

Silence filled them. The nobility of the kingdom cannot be more vexed for the incompetence of the king when it comes to his children. Although they came from different women, the king loved all of them equally and resolute to provide them a proper life. He is the man of his word and such perfection is a flaw of itself when it comes in making hard decisions as a king.

“I understand. I will go then.” Marga then responded bluntly to the king.

"What?” Everyone were flabbergasted.

“I will go and fulfill my aunt's wish. It also won't work to send someone in my place and pretends to be me. What am I gonna do after that? Stay still and do nothing, then hide my identity forever as the real princess Marga? No way, over my dead body."

“W-What? B-But—”

“Father and to the noblemen of this wealthy land, for once, put your brain in your head and not in your butt.” Marga interrupted king Liam's statement.

“W-What? That imbecile—” The chancellor is about to say something but Marga bluntly spoke again.

“How can you underestimate the emperor who provided 80%  of our military power? Do you think the emperor will not investigate about my background once I become his wife? And now you're attempting to fool him? One mistake and we will be forced to surrender under their country in guise of compensation for them using our mistake! Although for now, they cannot do that because of the oath the emperor said in the name of his beloved, Esmeralda, there is no way none of their pillars desire to covet the wealth in our land! So think through this! Are you really going to deceive them in the name of peace in disguise, risking our safety? Or send me in the name of honesty and loyalty?” Marga stated to them. Her appearance carries such grace despite the messes.

The nobles were silenced by the declamation of the princess. But doubt remained.

“That's an excellent remark, your highness. But do you understand that's not the only flaw—”

“ Oh please, Aaron. It's not that I'm gonna cause or run an havoc there, and I'll make sure not to cause a war. Moreover, please don't see me only on the outside. I may be violent but I am not a hooligan and I don't kick someone's ass for no reason, after all I didn't built my entire troop only by using mere violence. I am educated through my life experience that none of you got through, I am rational and not naive as anyone else specially when it comes in  leading, so do not label my capability only base on what you judged through gossips and the physical appearance of myself. You all know that best, father.” Said Marga, coldly looking at Aaron.

Murmurs filled the throne hall, talking toughly about the situation. A while later, they finally came into decision.

“If that is the case then, my daughter Marga... I entrust you to this. Please—”

“Most of my crews live peacefully in this Kingdom, father. So rest assured I am not going to do what you worries. However, there is something that I wish.”

“W-What is it? Tell me and I will do everything I can! No, even beyond my limitations!!!” Said the eager father.

“I want to bring few of my people... My personal maid, my knight, my remaining crew; Argon, Megalodon, Legazpi, Luisa and Laurus. That's the only wish—”

“Princess, I think I just saw through you now. Do you plan to build an army as an empress—”

“No Aaron, this is only for a back up plan if some unforeseen circumstances happen to me. Who knows what am I gonna encounter there? An assassination from a duke who wishes his daughter to be the empress than the infamous and unwelcome princess as me that's twice younger than the emperor? Cunning words in the high society that will devour me? Perhaps they may isolate me as well. As much as I've heard, my aunt Esmeralda is the most beloved in that empire. And the people knowing that aunt Esmeralda is the bullied illegitimate child of a cold king which was your father might hate me, the daughter of the king who was the half brother of Esmeralda, the beloved son of the father that neglected their beloved empress. With my people at my aid, I will stay in peace. That is all I wish for.” She answered bluntly.

The people in the throne hall were all hooked up by the response that 'this' princess just gave to them.

Alas, she really is the daughter of the second queen who passed away. How smart and cunning!

The somewhat proud gazes of the noblemen were pulled by the sobbing king who was on the throne.

“Hic! I can't believe it! My youngest daughter grew up just like her mother. My beloved Marian must be very proud on the afterlife!” Said the sentimental king.

The noblemen just forced a smile, making them look as if pushing a big poop out of  their anuses.
