My Hero Origins- Artemis Divil Story

Chapter 3

October 23rd. Four months ago today, Shino Basca and Artemis Divil shared their first kiss during their joint birthday celebration.

Now, four months later, the two have become each other's favorite person. With this new chapter in their relationship, Shino has decided to celebrate their anniversary for the first time.

He hovered a steaming kettle over a cup, watching as the boiling water poured in. The four of them had just finished breakfast and were getting ready for school. Yes, four of them. Shizu hadn't slept at all last night and decided to get ready for Monarch at 3 AM out of boredom. They came over to walk with RikKu to school, and none of them minded the early morning company.

None of them are typically morning people, so mornings often feel groggy, taking a while for all of them to become productive. To counter this, Artemis started waking up earlier, allowing him to get ready faster so he could help the half-asleep me and RikKu function. Sometimes, though, Artemis would oversleep, and we'd all end up running late.

Artemis lay on the couch, scrolling through his phone with his legs draped over the armrest. Still in his pajamas, his glasses were haphazardly discarded on the table in front of him. It was evident he was struggling this morning; the week had already taken a rough turn for him.

Meanwhile, Shizu was wide awake, energetically pulling RikKu around the dorm as they hurried to get ready. RikKu even let Shizu braid her hair, and she darted into the living room to grab her bag, which she had forgotten on the table.

Artemis: "Wow, look at you! You look like Rapunzel!" he chuckled, admiring the loose braid that flowed through her long blonde hair. Her makeup was done more elaborately than usual, a clear sign of Shizu's influence.

Rikku: "I'll take that as a compliment since she's gorgeous!" She beamed. Shizu appeared behind her, wrapping her arms around her in a playful hug.

Shizu: "You're gorgeous!" she exclaimed, planting a quick kiss on RikKu's cheek. They both giggled, the laughter brightening the room. They were a solid half-hour early for school.

Shino settled next to Artemis, coffee in hand, his head resting against my thigh. He glanced up at me as I gently ran my fingers through his hair, his phone momentarily forgotten.

Shino: "You have about 45 minutes until class starts," he reminded him. He groaned dramatically.

Artemis: "Can we just stay in bed?" He pulled his legs over the arm of the couch, shifting up to rest his head in my lap, curling his legs toward his stomach.

Shino: "You took Monday off, silly. You have to go in," he teased, continuing to ruffle his messy hair. He was already dressed in my uniform, and he was the last one to even start getting ready. He sat up and planted a quick kiss on his cheek before heading to his room.

School dragged on, the day blending into a routine of boredom. It was a nice break from the stressful days we'd had recently. After class, Jack and shino walked out together, as we often did, and settled down to chat for a while.

Shino returned to the dorm a little later, scrolling through his phone when a reminder suddenly flashed on the screen.

Shino: "27th May, 4 months." Oh no! I had completely forgotten, lost in my conversation with Jack. He began pacing the room, frantically brainstorming ideas. "Artemis loves fashion, enjoys creative activities, and has a passion for exploring. We'd already gone shopping, visited that café a few days ago, and wandered the city together. What else could I do?" Suddenly, inspiration struck. "What if I plan something completely new?" He gasped aloud. It was spring, and fairs were starting to open up. He wasn't sure if Artemis was into rides and carnival games, but it was definitely worth a shot. It could either turn into an exhilarating night filled with thrilling rides or a laid-back evening on the smaller attractions, depending on his mood. A smile spread across my face as excitement bubbled within me.
