It's dark by the time you and Violet make it home. You open the door expecting Ben and Vivien to already be asleep but much to your chagrin, Vivien is downstairs waiting for the two of you. "Hey." She calls out with a smile which quickly falls when she sees the state the two of you are in. Violet attempts to walk off but it doesn't work, Vivien has already made it clear she's going to talk to the two of you.

"Whoa. Come here." The two of you stop as if her words carry an absoluteness to them. "What happened to your faces?" Her voice is worried and you feel guilty for already getting into trouble at your school. Just as you're about to tell her what happened, Violet speaks up. "We fell down." Violet also seems rather guilty, you can hear it in the way she delivers her sentence. "Come here. Sit, sit, sit." You nervously bite the corner of your lip as she instructs you. The two of you are sat at the island in the kitchen when she asks the two of you a question.

"Boy or girl?"

"Girl." You respond.

"Three of them." Violet adds on and you can't help but look at her with mild bewilderment. You hadn't noticed the third girl.

"I hope they look worse than you do." Vivien says while she starts taking something out from a cabinet. You and Violet can't help but smile at her words. "Do you know their names?" She asks but Violet is quick to answer. "I'm not narcing." Vivien looks at you, fully expecting you to tell her but you simply shrug your shoulders.

"You know we can easily move you two into a different school. There's a lot of really good private schools in this neighborhood." Vivien sits in front of you to tend to your lip first but her words are more targeted to Violet.

"I'm not running away. I'm not scared of them." Violet says a matter of factly. Your mother looks at you, wanting your opinion on the matter but you just nod in agreement with Violet. She gives you an uncertain look but begins to clean off your lip. "Not afraid of anything. It's like that time in kindergarten when Violet insisted on the two of you going home because all the other girls were sleeping with the nightlight on." You grin at the memory. You didn't mind that they had the light on but Violet was pissed. You agreed with Violet when she told the girls off for 'being wusses', not that it ever really mattered to you, you would agree with her on everything, always being her backup. That's how it's always been and that's how it always will be you suppose.

"I know you've gotten the short end of the stick lately. The move and..." you're snapped out of your mini daze. Vivien is speaking to you and Violet still, "your dad and I haven't exactly been great to be around." You feel bad. Like really bad.

"Why don't you guys just get divorced if you're so miserable." It's Violet. She's clearly upset by the entire situation and the way your mother has downplayed the entire thing. You sigh. You're not disappointed or shocked, in fact, you're used to this. Violet has always been more brash than you, more likely to say something without thinking fully about how it may affect someone but it's what makes her, her and you, you. "We still love each other." Vivien says but you find it hard to believe. "Could have fooled me. Probably could have fooled y/n as well." You avert your eyes at Violet's comment, opting to stay silent but Vivien knows you agree. You always agree with Violet. "I thought you hated each other. Or at least you hated him. I don't blame you. He's a shithead." Vivien stops wiping your lip upon hearing Violet's comment. Her thumb lightly grazes over your busted lip to make sure it won't start bleeding again before she turns to look at Violet.

"Sorry-"

"It's okay. He was a shithead." The three of you smile while Vivien begins to clean up Violet's forehead as she begins to speak up once more. "You know, we've got a lot of history. Your dad has been through a lot. I have been through a lot. I guess we need each other." It relieves you to hear your mother say that. One of your biggest fears is your family getting ripped apart, it has been since you were a little girl. You would be lying if you said you weren't scared that your parents could possibly split apart after his affair but you would understand if they did.
