Dev stepped into the conference room, surveying the applicants. His gaze lingered on a young woman with striking features and determined eyes — Ananya Sharma. Ayaan whispered, "Sir, that's Ananya Sharma. Top of her class, excellent references." Dev raised an eyebrow. "Impressive. Let's see if she lives up to her credentials." As Ananya's turn arrived, she stood confidently and approached Dev.
"Good morning, Mr. Singhaniya," Ananya said, her voice steady.
"Good morning, Ms. Sharma," Dev replied, his tone neutral.
"Why do you think you're suitable for this role?" Dev asked.
Ananya's response was articulate and convincing, but Dev's expressions remained unreadable. Just as the interview concluded, Ananya's phone rang. She apologized and silenced it.
"Personal emergency?" Dev asked, his interest piqued.
Ananya hesitated before answering, "My sister.... she's struggling."
Dev's gaze softened, ever so slightly. Dev leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers.
"Your qualifications are impressive, Ms. Sharma. But this role requires more than just qualifications."
Ananya met his gaze. "I understand, Sir. I am a quick learner, adaptable, and discreet."
Dev raised an eyebrow. "Discreet?"
"Yes, Sir, In my previous interaction, I handled sensitive client information with confidentiality." Ananya replied.
Ayaan nodded, impressed. "That's exactly what we need."
Dev's expression remained neutral, but his eyes lingered on Ananya's determined face.
"Very well, Ms. Sharma. You're hired. Start tomorrow." replied Dev, his tone serious.
Ananya's eyes widened in surprise, followed by a radiant smile. "Thank you, Sir!"
As Ananya left the conference room, Dev turned to Ayaan.
"Ayaan, run a background check on her."
Ayaan nodded. "Already on it, Sir."
Dev's gaze drifted back to the door, his thoughts unexpectedly occupied by Ananya's smile.
