Mountain PoV
Halloween... the only day of the year he truly despised. It was the same every time. Sodo and Swiss ran around the ministry like the clowns that they were with stupid masks on their faces, trying to scare the other ghouls.
Unfortunately they succeeded most of the time, leading to several more or less bloody accidents.
Last year it was Cumulus who got so scared she fainted, the year before that it was Rain hitting his head on the doorframe, this year it was Phantom who ran into a wall as he was chased by Swiss, which resulted in him having a nosebleed for nearly 20 minutes.

Actually Papa forbode the whole scaring people in the hallways thingy but they wouldn't be Sodo and Swiss if they actually cared for the rules.
With a deep sigh he pushed away the artificial cobwebs that were put up as decoration in the hallways. The cobwebs weren't the only decoration, there were also bare trees, glowing moss and stones and, of course, carved pumpkins. Huge pumpkins. Even he himself could hide behind them, nevermind the small fire ghoul that suddenly jumped into his way with a loud "BOOO!"

He had put quite some effort in his Freddie Krueger costume, Mountain could see that, too bad he really didn't care and pushed his head into the carved pumpkin he had hid behind.
"Aww maaan, Mounty..!" He whined.
The earth ghoul only shrugged "No scaring in the hallways, Sodo. But nice costume by the way."
Then he walked on, leaving the grumbling fire ghoul behind.
As he reached his room he found his door to be slightly open, which was strange since he was so sure he had shut it as he left.

A small noise, kind of sounding like a sob, came from inside as he entered and closed the door behind him.
It seemed to come from his plants on the south side of the room. He always made sure his babies got enough sunlight, so he put them all together in front of one of the floor lenght windows, creating his own small jungle.
Carefully to not scare whatever was hiding in it, he peeked over the top leaves, only to find a shivering and whimpering water ghoul.
"Lilypad?"
Rain lifted his head, a single tear rolling out of his blue eyes.
"What are you doing here, hiding behind my plants?" He always had a soft spot for the shy water ghoul and seeing him crying and hiding behind his plants made him want to murder whoever did something to him.

With a small sniffle Rain wiped his eyes "Swiss scared me, so I hid in here. Sorry to bother you, I'll leave now."
Swiss, that damn multi ghoul!
"No, you don't have to. Want to come out?" He held his hands out to the ghoul on the floor, who took it with another sniffle and let Mountain help him to his feet.
After he clumsily climbed out from behind the plants, Mountain pulled him into a hug. The way Rain clung to him made him want to hurt Swiss even more. How did he dare to scare Rain like that?!
"It's okay Lilypad, you're safe with me."

"Thanks Mountain, can I stay for a bit longer." The water ghoul mumbled against his shoulder, letting a soft smile appear on Mountain's lips.
"Of course, you can stay as long as you want. I've planned on watching a movie tonight, you wanna join?"
That invitation seemed to cheer Rain up a lot "I would love to. Can we watch The Rocky Horror Picture Show?"
"You've got an excellent taste, my dear." Mountain praised, making a beautiful purple blush blossom on the blue-ish skin of the water ghoul.

As they were watching their movie, munching away on a bowl of popcorn Mountain made in the kitchen, he was in complete awe for the usually so shy water ghoul.
After he had boldly made himself a home in the earth ghoul's lap, not without blushing deeply purple again though, he sang and talked along to the people on the screen.
"Wow Lilypad, I'm impressed."
Rain giggled. "I just love it so much. Tim Curry as Dr. Frank n Furter always had a special place in my heart."
"What's your favorite scene?" Mountain wanted to know.
"Definitely the Janet - Dr. Scott - Janet - Brad - Rocky-scene, I don't know how else to describe it, but you know what I mean. I just LOVE it, makes me crack up every time." Rain answered his eyes shining bright as he thought about it.

Mountain couldn't help but smile. Rain was breathtakingly beautiful when he let his guard down, it made him want to kiss him.
"You know what? Cumulus smuggled some marshmallows in here to hide them from the two terrors in the hallway."
Mountain hated the way Rain's expression became wary as he talked about Swiss and Sodo, but kept going by opening the bag of fluffy white marshmallows.
He held up one to Rain's mouth, motioning for him to open up. The water ghoul did as he was told and Mountain placed it gently in his mouth, watching him closing his eyes while chewing on the sticky goodness.

"You like them?"
"They're soft and sweet, so yeah..." Rain opened his eyes again, blinking sheepishly.
"You know what I like? You."
The water ghoul's eyes became wide like saucers as Mountain leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to his lips.
For a moment he thought Rain would push him away but then he wrapped his arms around his neck and kissed him back.
As Mountain broke the kiss Rain looked like he wanted to ask for more, but instead he said "Where's the trick?"
Chuckling softly, the earth ghoul ran a hand through his hair "No tricks, just treats for you tonight, Lilypad."
