Time crawls when you're in suspense. Finally, Celestine, my assistant, arrived silently. She opened my wardrobe, revealing a stunning purple gown for dinner.
I stepped into the bathroom, and when I emerged 55 minutes later, Celestine had vanished. I'd spent 30 minutes admiring myself in the mirror. The girl staring back had captivating blue-green eyes – a unique blend of both. She had blonde hair cascaded down her shoulders, not very long actually just shoulder length , framing a face that seemed beautiful, yet unfamiliar.
I've mastered hiding my true self from the world. My heart, pain, and emotions remain concealed. But there's much I don't know. My powers, if I have any or I'm just empty, remain a mystery. Even my eye color, a blend of blue and green, is unclear. Actually, I don't even know the exact colour of my eyes. The truth is, I've always felt like a useless burden.
I gazed at my reflection, struggling to accept my royal status. "Why don't they just kill me if they hate me this much?" I whispered. Maybe Even the earth will appreciate a way less burden and weight on her. Especially, since it about useless.
Shaking off the thought, I finished getting ready. 'Beautiful, really I'm quite good looking!' A knock at the door signaled Celestine's arrival. "Time to go, Princess."
In the dining room, Yasmine already sat at the head table, her regal presence commanding attention. I took my seat beside her, trying to blend in.
After dinner, Yasmine instructed me to follow her to her chambers, along with Aunt Jessy and Uncle James. They had taken care of my sister and me since our parents' passing, managing the our kingdom with kindness and wisdom.
One thing Yasmine and I shared was our deep love and respect for Aunt Jessy and Uncle James. They were our rock, our true parents in every sense.
Aunt Jessy, with her warm smile and gentle touch, had always been a source of comfort. Her kindness and patience knew no bounds, and she treated Yasmine and me like her own daughters. Her wise counsel and guidance helped navigate the complexities of royal life.
Uncle James, strong and steadfast, embodied protection and stability. His sharp mind and strategic thinking kept the Ron kingdom prosperous and secure. His calm demeanor and reassuring presence made him the perfect counterbalance to Yasmine to be perfect queen of the throne.
Together, they formed a united front, supporting and loving us unconditionally. They never differentiated between Yasmine and me, showering us with equal affection and attention. Their selflessness and devotion made them more than just guardians – they are no less than our true parents.
