I drifted in and out of consciousness, faintly hearing Yasmine's screams for help. Pain and anguish pierced her voice, revealing a glimmer of the love she once held.
Somewhere deep within her, a spark of affection remained.
As darkness consumed me, I wished to never awaken again.
"Oh, Jesus," I whispered to myself, barely audible to even me, "please grant me a small space in your world. I'll find solace in its simplicity."
