Chapter 8

The Next Day

Maria Sanchez

I woke up to the sound of my alarm it was 8am and I knew it was time to start getting ready for work. I turned over looking over at the empty space beside me having a pretty good feeling that Monica might either be doing her morning run or making breakfast but nonetheless I rolled out of bed letting the cold hardwood hold my feet. Slowly making my way to her bathroom I heard the guest bathroom showering running and I smiled little Savannah is already up and getting ready for work I feel like a proud mom continuing my journey I stripped out of my clothes and decided to take a lavender bath soak it always helps me relax before work and I love the way it makes me feel and smell it was heaven on earth to me every time. After my soak I turned the shower on exfoliating my body and washing my hair, squeezing my hair out as I stepped out of the shower wrapping one of Monica's fluffy towels around my body god I love her towels. I finished drying my body and hair off slipping on my bra and panties as I grabbed my curl definer cream out of my bag rubbing some in my hand as I run it through my hair scrunching it up I was going more for a down curly look for today and it suits me quite well if you ask me hell or even Monica she loves my curly hair. Applying my makeup I hear distant humming in the hallway and music coming from downstairs yup Monica is cooking and in a good mood as well and so is Savannah.

Monica Jones

I've been awake since maybe 6:30am and I've been in a really good mood because of everything that happened yesterday. I did my morning run, took a shower and now I'm making all of us some breakfast burritos for us its a simple meal especially for on the move because the girls didn't wake up until 7:50am for Savannah and 8am for Maria so I know that by the time they get finished getting ready it'll be time to head to work for the day. I also decided that we'll go to lunch  together I mean why not what could hurt maybe I'm over doing it but I have the love of my life back in my life and a potential little in my house it couldn't get any better than this and I mean those exact words. As I'm plating everyone's food Savannah jumped out "boo" she shouted causing me to jump up holding my chest as I looked over to her pausing my music she was having a fit of giggles "I totally got you" she giggled out as she skipped up towards me "sweetheart I nearly dropped the food but yes you got me how'd you sleep sweetpea" I asked her plate and Maria's in my hands "sorry but it was so funny because you were in the zoneeee but I slept good can I help please" she pleaded at me with those big doe eyes "you can grab my plate for me sweetpea and yes I was definitely in the zone while cooking but I'll definitely be getting you back soon" I chuckled as she giggled grabbing my plate following me to the table as we decided that orange juice was best and that we should wait for Maria. 

Authors POV

With what felt like a century Monica and Savannah had to wait Maria finally graced them with her presence and who better to scold her was Savannah herself. "You took so long our food almost got cold thanks you to slow poke" she said as she crossed her arms pouting as she glared at Maria "I am so sorry pumpkin it takes me a while to get ready sometimes but I'm here now so no more pouting cutie" Maria said giving Savannah a kiss to her head "how about we eat because we have to out of here in like 15mins" Monica said pulling both girls from their silly conversation and with those very words everyone began eating their food having minimal small talk in between. Once everyone was finished eating Savannah insisted that she cleaned up due to everything that the women have been doing for her. After cleaning everything up yes Monica and Maria helped Savannah clean and they were on their way to the garage with Savannah picking out the all black Jeep Wrangler to ride into work for she giggled the whole way there while as Monica was just shaking her head and Maria was laughing. Once the were all in the car and buckled up Monica looked back at Savannah "today is gonna be a great first day and don't worry about a single thing you'll do great" she said to the small girl as she smiled at her 'oh and if anyone gives you any trouble let me know and I'll beat their ass and fire them on the spot" Maria laughed but also gave Savannah a serious look all Savannah did was giggle and shake her head "yea no we ain't doing that Maria you can't be a hotheaded spit fire all the time especially not at work love" Monica said and held her hand up before Maria could get another word out. She started the car and pulled out of the garage as Maria decided she was in charge of the music and Savannah was just sitting in the backseat watching the scene pass by while humming and moving her head to the beat of the music.
