He stroked my cheek, "I hate that you found out this way. We didn't want you to know. Not yet." He took my hands, and I was trembling with fear, "Shh its okay. You don't have to be scared. I'm going to fix this all." And he cupped my face in his hands making me look directly into his eyes, "You don't know anything. You don't believe in vampires, and you don't know anything about me or Paul."

"Paul is a vampire too? I don't understand. I have known him my whole life. You don't age as a vampire so how could he be one of you?"

Ian looked shocked, "How do you know about vampires? I compelled you to forget."

I shook my head, "I drank some of that vervain stuff earlier. It makes me not able to be compelled."

He stroked my cheek, "Well that's unfortunate." And I saw his eyes changing and his fangs coming out. He grabbed me and lunged for my throat.

Before I could let out a scream Ian flew across the room and Paul was standing in front of me, "Are you okay? Did he hurt you?"

I put my hand to my neck and when I pulled it away there was blood on it. Paul's eyes started to change the same way Ian's had before he attacked me, and I started to freak out. He bit his wrist and put it to my lips, "Drink this. It will heal you."

I was hesitant but did as he said, and it was almost like the attack never happened. The wound on my neck was gone and if I hadn't experienced it I wouldn't have known anything had happened.

Ian made it back to us and asked Paul, "So what are we going to do about this situation? She can't be compelled and there are hunters in town looking for us."

I just stood there frozen. I couldn't get my brain to comprehend the fact that this was all actually happening.

"I...I won't tell...I won't...say anything." I stammered.

Paul looked at Ian, "I believe her."

Ian shook his head, "Okay lets say she is telling the truth brother. She still knows our secret and we both know how dangerous that can be for her and us."

Paul looked at me and back at Ian, "I have known her my whole life. We can trust her."

Ian shook his head, "Okay well when this all blows up its on you." And he walked over to the couch and sat down.

I looked at Paul, "I have so many questions."

Paul smiled, "And I will answer them all but first we have to deal with the hunters that are in town."

I shook my head, "They gave me until tomorrow night to prove or disprove that y'all are vampires, so we have a little time."

Ian was back at my side in an instant, "I say we just go rip their throats out and be done with it."

I half laughed, "You have to tell me how you do that." I said to Ian and then turned back to Paul, "There is no need to kill them. They won't hurt you. I will see to it. Now I think I deserve some answers."

Paul took my hand and led me over to the couch, "Sit down. This is going to take a while. Do you want something to drink?"

I reached for the wine on the table and Paul snatched it from me.

I laughed, "What is it with y'all and not wanting me to drink the wine in this house?"

Ian laughed, "By all means brother, let her have a drink." Paul cut him a look, so Ian handed me his glass, "Here have some of mine. Just don't have a big drink. I would start with a little sip if I were you."
