Choices (Calum Hood au)

"Upload it tonight Michael, I mean it!" Luke threatened, pretending to tower over Michael. Michael laughed, pushing Luke
away from him, "I will Luke, chill."

I rolled my eyes at my idiot friends before bidding them all goodbye. We just finished band practice, which basically means "arguing over which song to cover next" since we don't make anything original yet.

Don't think we haven't tried, but none of us are very good at lyrics except Michael, and we don't want to put a whole lot of pressure on him to come up with a new song every week.

I grabbed my keys from my back pocket and expertly opened up the door, the smell of roasted chicken hitting my nose instantly. I had forgotten to eat lunch.

My mom popped her head out from the kitchen door, "Calum, honey! Dinner will be ready in an hour. It may smell close to ready, but boy is this recipe time consuming." My mother giggled.

I snorted, my mom was almost always trying out new recipes she'd found God knows where. They taste good (most of the time) so I can't complain.

I ran up to my room and was greeted by familiar blue paint and the smell of vanilla. My dog, Percy, was napping on my bed, but his head lifted when I walked in. I rubbed him behind the ears and muttered a "goodboy" before changing into something more flexible to move in than black skinny jeans.

I laced up my cleats before heading outside to do some light stretching. This was my favorite time of day, when I could kick a ball around my yard and see how fast I could finish the obstacle course I set up for myself.

2:36, that's how long it usually took. I was almost always aiming for 1:00. The perfect 1. I did the course 2:36, again 2:36, one more time 2:34. I looked at my stopwatch, impressed with my self. It wasn't much. But it was something. "Honey, dinner!" My mother called from the front porch.
"Coming!" I said, looking at my stopwatch one more time.

2:34. 2:34. 2:34.
