It never left them, it just followed.

Elizabeth Macallister was once Liz Murphy, now she lives with her two children and her husband. She had a happy nuclear life. Her oldest child was only a few years younger than Shauna's daughter, a twelve-year-old who Callie used to babysit for money— knowing that Elizabeth lived rather 'comfortably' in her house (a term which Callie says Elizabeth only used so her mom wouldn't be offended by the insane amount of wealth).

But she also was a teenager once, who was planning to go to prom with her boyfriend. Off the field, she was known for her kind-hearted nature. Where Jackie was the queen bee, Liz was the people's princess (a nickname coined from Princess Diana— Liz loved the woman to death). She had her friends, then friends of friends, then just people she knew. Liz loved to keep her circle small, which didn't make sense when her soccer team was her main circle.

Van loved to say that Liz was one of the reasons why the team had such an audience, her feather-like personality captivated so many in class that it's easy to root for her as soon as she stepped in to play. Maybe the banter between the two caused them to be close, maybe that's the only reason why Liz was trusted with the secret of Van's feelings for Taissa. After all, Liz could and would keep a secret, if her life depended on it.
