Jimin crouched in the corner of the dark alley, his knees pulled tightly to his chest. His small frame trembled as fear gripped him, and his heart pounded so loudly it drowned out all other sounds. Tears streaked down his cheeks, and he squeezed his eyes shut, hands covering his ears as if that could block out the overwhelming terror.

"I can't... I can't..." he whispered between sobs, his body shaking uncontrollably. His mind kept flashing back to Taehyung, to the brutal beating he'd witnessed but couldn't stop. The helplessness was paralyzing, suffocating.

Suddenly, a firm but familiar hand rested on his head. Jimin flinched, jerking away, thinking it was one of the men returning to finish what they'd started. "Don't..." he whimpered, fear thick in his voice.

But the hand stayed, gentle and protective. Slowly, Jimin opened his tear-filled eyes and blinked, his vision blurred. Through the haze, a familiar face came into view-Jungkook. Relief and disbelief flooded Jimin's heart.

"Hyung?" Jimin's voice cracked, his eyes widening as Jungkook crouched down in front of him, concern softening the hard lines of his face.

Without a word, Jungkook wrapped Jimin in his arms, pulling him close. Jimin collapsed against him, the weight of his fear dissolving in the safety of Jungkook's embrace. His hands clung desperately to Jungkook's jacket, as if letting go would unravel him completely.

"Shh, I'm here now," Jungkook whispered softly, his hand gently stroking Jimin's hair, trying to calm his trembling. His other hand pressed firmly against Jimin's back, grounding him in the moment. "You're safe, Jimin-ah. I've got you."

Jimin sobbed harder, burying his face in Jungkook's chest. "Hyung... They hurt Tae-hyung... They..." His words broke into hiccups as guilt and fear overwhelmed him.

Jungkook's jaw tightened at the mention of Taehyung, but his voice remained steady. "Where's Tae? What happened?" he asked, pulling Jimin back slightly to look at him. His thumbs gently wiped away the tears staining Jimin's face.

"They beat him... They kept hitting him, hyung..." Jimin's voice cracked as he recounted the horror. "I tried to help, but they were too strong. Tae told me to run, but I shouldn't have..." Regret choked his words, his eyes pleading for forgiveness.

Jungkook pulled him back into his arms, cradling Jimin's head against his shoulder. "You did what you had to. You're safe now, and that's what matters." His voice was firm, though his heart burned with anger at the thought of what had happened to Taehyung. But he had to stay focused-for Jimin.

Gradually, Jimin's sobs quieted, his breathing becoming more steady. "I thought I'd never see you again," Jimin whispered, his voice small, almost fragile.

"You'll always see me, Jimin-ah," Jungkook murmured, pressing a soft kiss to the top of his head. "I'll always come for you." His arms tightened protectively around him, as if shielding him from the world.

Jimin sniffled, lifting his head slightly to meet Jungkook's gaze. "But... Tae..." he whispered, worry returning to his voice.

Jungkook's eyes hardened with determination. "I'll find him, Jimin. But first, I need to get you home. You're hurt, and I need to make sure you're okay." He squeezed Jimin's shoulders gently. "I promise, I'll bring Tae back."

Jimin nodded weakly, trusting Jungkook completely. He leaned into his older brother as they stood, feeling safer despite the lingering fear.
