Mark cranked the heat up and I must have gotten a little to relaxed, because I didn't wake up until we pulled into his apartment building. He grabbed my things from the car, and I followed him upstairs. Since I had slept the whole way, I wasn't quite sure where we were, but I knew we were still somewhere in town.

"Welcome to your new home." he said as he opened the door.

"I can't believe you live here by yourself." I said, as I stepped inside.

"Well, I have a roommate now." he smiled.

"That you do." I laughed.

I was shocked at how clean everything was. Not that I had pictured Mark as being a slob, but most men weren't so clean and organized like this. His apartment was gorgeous and had a lot more space than I had imagined.

"So, I do have two bedrooms, but for now one is being used as storage. So, I will give you my room, and work on emptying out the other one this weekend."

"No, you don't have to do all of that. You've done more than enough. I don't mind sleeping on the couch."

"Absolutely not, you get the bed. I won't take no for an answer."

"Thank you for all of this Mark. I appreciate you more than you know."

"That's what friends are for. Anything I can do to help."

"You've done more than enough. I'm grateful for you."

"If you want to take a hot shower, I can go ahead and order some food for when you're done.

"Yes, I am in desperate need for a shower."

"Chinese sound good?"

"You know me too well."

I left him to take care of the order while I grabbed some clean clothes and hopped in the shower. It wasn't until I closed my eyes and let the water run down my body, that I realized I would have to go shopping and buy all of the basic necessities. For now, I would just have to smell like a man, and I was okay with that. Mark always smelled good when I passed him at work.

I scrubbed until my skin was nearly raw, and decided I would take another shower before bed. I brushed my hair and slipped into some clean clothes then joined Mark on the couch. Our food was already on the way, and he was finding a movie for us to watch while we ate. He already placed my things in his room, so I wasn't even going to bother arguing over the sleeping arrangements. This is the man who just moved me into his house, so I was safe. Of course he wasn't going to let me sleep on the couch.

We ate our Chinese food and watched a couple of movies. I must admit, I had never lived with a guy friend before, so it was a little different. I had only ever lived with one other man before Chris, and both times we had already been in a relationship before I moved in. So, this would probably take a little getting used to, but at the same time, I was looking forward to it.

"I want you to make yourself at home." Mark said when the second movie ended. "Treat it as your own. You can have friends over when you want, I'll have your own key made, and you can obviously come and go as you please. I don't want you to feel restricted or uncomfortable here."

"Sounds good." I smiled. "I think I will be spending a lot of time working on myself. I probably won't hang out with friends other than at work or for dinner or something for a while."

"Just don't shut everyone out. You need to be around people who love and care about you."

"I know, I just feel like such a burden when I dump everything on people."
