"Ughh we're here again?" My best friend Rose complained as I stopped the car.
It was the fall carnival. Only here once a year. I'd never been here before but this year something was different. Because he worked here.
I dragged her through the carnival and she complained when she saw where we were going. Just like we had went every other night.
"No no no CeCe." Rose complained digging her feet into the ground so I couldn't pull her. "Not the haunted house again. It's becoming a tad stalkerish."
"Oh come on Rose I am not a stalker." I told her. "You know I love the haunted house."
"Or you're totally in love with the mystery man who works there." She argued.
"Am not!" I shot back and she scoffed.
"Please you force me here every night just so you can sneak a peek at him. Not that there's much to peek at , the man wears a mask and scares people for fucks sake!" She said and I rolled my eyes.
"Fine I'll go alone." I said and she kissed my cheek before running away.
"Don't get killed." She shouted at me as she ran to get cotton candy.
I rolled my eyes before walking into the haunted house. It was dark except for a dark red hue that lit the house. Actors popped out to scare me and I ignored them walking straight passed them. I had one person I was looking for.
I saw him when I walked into one part of the house that he was always in and heat immediately filled my body. A bloodied ghost mask along with bloodied clothes and a knife. I bit down on my lip before quickly hiding behind a wall so that I could stare at him for just a little while longer. The first time I saw him I immediately knew he was what I needed. He wasn't like the other actors here. The way he moved and spoke filled my body with fear. He actually wanted to scare people. He enjoyed inflicting fear just as much as I enjoyed feeling it.
I had bit down on my lip so hard that the familiar taste of blood had filled my mouth. My phone slipped out of my hand and I momentarily took my eyes off him to pick it up. When I looked back up though , he was gone. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion and I spun around to look for him but the minute I turned around someone had their hand around my throat. Slamming me into the wall behind me. Their other hand came to cover my mouth muffling my scream.
I looked up seeing none other than my ghost and my eyes went wide.
"It seems I have a little stalker." He said lowly and his voice caused my body to rush with excitement.
He removed his hand slowly and I decided to go for the innocent game.
"W-what?" I asked innocently and he tilted his head slightly.
"Don't pretend you're innocent." He says with a warning lurking under his calm tone. " You've been here every night for the past 5 days." Ok busted.
"And you assume I'm here for you?" I said. "Egotistical much?"
"Well it's not egotistical when I catch you watching me. Sometimes for hours." He said and I bit down on my bottom lip.
"I'm not a stalker." I clarified and he laughed under his breath.
"No you're just a girl with a really fucked up romantic taste." He says teasingly. "You're just a girl who likes to be scared hm?"
"I-" I started but I suddenly couldn't find the words. "I don't know."
"Oh I think you do know." He said and my mouth went dry. I was at a loss for words. Me!
