Boom!
"Whaza?!" He awoke from his sleep. "Where am I?" He looked around the dark room that seemed to be moving around. His head hurt like he'd been hit in the head with a baseball bat. He could only see crates and boxes piled around the wooden room. He got up and put his hand on the wall. His memory was blank but he did remember three things. One, his name, which was Max by the way. The basic necessities of life. And his age. He was a sixteen year old boy. He looked around the dark room in worry of where he was. Then he heard it.
"CHOO CHOOOOOO!" The sound of a train! He scanned the room for a door. He flailed his arms all over the place to find another wall to slide his hand on. When he finally found one he slid his fingers along the ragged wall. Max got two splinters when he found the door but he didn't really feel it. He put his hand on the doorknob and slid it open.
The light in the room was blinding compared to the tiny room he was in earlier. He put his hand in front of his face and when he took it off he was relieved to see at least twenty five other kids his age. They all looked at him like he was nothing, then went back to staring at the floor. He then realized they were all men. Max was about to say something but quickly stopped himself when he saw a piece of paper taped to one of the windows that read "Don't talk to anyone in this room, or you will be severely punished." He looked at it with scared eyes and just wanted to go back to his dark room and fall back to sleep in the hay. But when he tugged on the doorknob it didn't budge. He looked back at all the kids and let out a sheepish smile. He sat down next to a kid about his age. It looked like he was in his pajamas. He had a planet "pajama shirt" and the same thing for his shorts. He looked embarrassed by his clothes but Max didn't mind.
That was when he realized that he didn't even know what HE looked like. He wanted to find a mirror to see himself and then saw a bathroom sign taped to one of the back walls pointing to leave through a random door on the opposite side of the room he woke up in. So he got up from his booth and walked toward the front of the room. The kids looked at him. This time staring. They wouldn't stop. Max turned around and walked through the door. Right when he walked into the room he bumped into a huge guy.
"Hey!" he growled. He showed his brown teeth. "Watch where you're going kid!"
"Yes sir," Max said. The man looked at him and raised an eyebrow.
"I like this one," the man said. Max gulped. The man laughed as he shoved Max out of the way and went into the room with all the kids. Max sighed and went into the bathroom. And hastily looked in the mirror. Max gasped at the horrible image. His right cheek was red and had the outline of a fist.
His head had a goosebump on it and he had a big scar that came through his eye. Max had dirty blond hair with what looked like sand in it. Max had freckles all over his face and dark blue eyes. He wore a dirty baseball jersey that was marked with sponsorships and the team name was the M.V.Ps.
On top of the ripped up jersey he wore a jean looking coat and he had jeans that were ripped to shreds, it almost seemed like his jeans were jeans shorts, that's how ripped up they were. Max was happy and not happy that he decided to go and look at himself.
"Bang bang! Hurry up kid! I got a present for you!" The man that he had greeted through the doorway yelled.
"Yes sir," Max responded. He quickly ran to the door and opened it.
"Hello chump. You look bloody strong for your age. Come with me," growled the man. When he started walking he revealed another boy. They stared at each other almost the entire way to their destination.
He had rugged black hair that looked like it hadn't been combed in months. He had the same big underbite as the man. And had bags under his eyes.
"Take this chump. You look ugly in that baseball jersey you're wearing there," the man said as he handed him the same shirt and shorts the other boy that he was walking with had on. The shirt was a dark gray color with dirt all over it.
There was a label on it that said team captain. Max was so confused. Why does he not remember his life, why are all these kids with me right now? Why does this shirt say team captain? Team captain for what!? He had to lock those questions away for now because he reached a door that said the main office.
