"Chumps, meet the boss!" The man said as he opened the huge door. Max was relieved that he was finally going to meet the boss. Maybe he or she is nice, maybe this is a prank, maybe it's a dream. He didn't know.

As the door opened it revealed a grand room. It was huge. The flooring had a red carpet leading to a wooden desk that was labeled boss. The other carpet was gray. It had bookcases covering every wall.

There were two doors to the left and right of the desk. And a huge taped up window behind it. The thing that made no sense was that nobody was sitting at the desk that said boss.

"Hello boss," said the man. Both the boys looked at each other.

"Hello Java," a voice that was clearly a female spoke.

"Who said that," said the boy to his side.

"I did the boss, ooohhh yeah I couldn't make it today so I got a speaker, isn't that fun!? The boss asked.

"Suuuurrreeee," Max said. Java frowned and looked back at the old radio.

"I'm sorry sir these are the newbies," Java growled. Max gulped. The kid beside him started to pull his own hair.

"I know I know. Hello boys," the boss said. She stopped expecting a hi back, but didn't get one. "You boys are going to be the captains of the N.D.P! Isn't that fun!?" Max and the other boy that stood next to him looked quizzically at Java who stood against the wall with his arms crossed.

"They're confused ma'm," Java said sternly. His rugged beard and big build scared Max.

"Oh, yes and I know both of your names. Ego, and Max," the woman said from the radio.

"WHAT!? HOW!?" Max screamed he wanted answers. Java raised an eyebrow just as shocking as the first.

"Chump. You need to calm do- "No never!" Max interrupted Java. Max saw his chance and ran from the room. He opened the big wooden doors and closed them behind him. He ran room through room.

Breathing heavily working hard to dodge the objects in his way. Although he wasn't being chased he still ran. When he reached the bathroom he went into earlier he stopped. He gasped for air and sat down. Just then the door to the room with all the kids opened slowly. He hastily ran behind the door.

The door opened and squashed him against the wall. He held his breath. The man who came through the door was wearing what looked like a swat vest but  instead of saying S.W.A.T on it, it said G.O.N.D.P. Max couldn't figure out what it meant but what scared him was the fact that he was holding a gun! He walked by without saying a word.

He opened the door that Max came through and closed it behind him.  Max let out a sigh of relief. He thought that he would close the kids door behind him but he didn't.

Max wanted to close the door but something was telling him that there was a reason he didn't close the door behind him. So Max stayed sitting behind the door. He waited, and waited, and waited, but nothing was happening. Maybe it was just dumb luck, he thought. So, he closed the door.

"Kid! I don't have time for your games," hollered Java from the room that the guard went into. Max hastily opened the room into the teens. He sprinted through the room. All the teens looked at him as he ran. Once he reached the room he was in before he yanked at the door, but it didn't budge. He pulled again but no movement.

"Kiiiid!" Yelled Java. He heard the door swing open behind him and dove into a pile of suitcases. "Oohh kiiiiiiiiid," Java growled. Max was hyperventilating. "YOU KID!" Max's heart jumped. "Tell me where he is!" Java challenged. The teen gulped and answered.

"He.. he... is... not.... In... here." Java laughed mockingly.

"You chumps agree with this short face!?" Java teased. The kids in the room shook their heads no. "Gooood, now, we make a demonstration of what happens to liars," Java said with evilness. "Take him away!" Instantly the door swung open with guards.

"Wait! I did nothing! Please! Please! Pleeeeaaase!" Yelled the teen. Then Max heard a door close.

"Now, where is that freeloader?" Java growled. Max held his breath.

"Hi.. hiding.. behind the.... suitcases," said a teen. Max felt his heart skip a beat. He didn't want to be carried away like the kind boy. Who had helped him. Max got up from the pile and put his hands up.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry. I'm just confused sir!" Max cried. Java let out a huge grin.

"Now now. Don't be sad now *mph* you are no longer the captain because we have a new game plan. Come. With. Me," Java smirked. Max followed him on the same walk as last time. He didn't speak a word. When they got there he saw the kid he walked with earlier against the wall with his arms crossed.

"Finally your back!" Yelled Ego, he no longer had his Captain shirt on.

"He is!? I mean yes your back," said the voice on the speaker. Her voice had some sweetness to it so he wasn't that afraid anymore. "Now, where was I hmmm. My goodness my tiny brain can't remember."

"You were going to tell them what's happening Mam," growled Java.

"Oh Java you're a lifesaver. Ok like I said welcome to the N.D.P! You two are the ones that have been picked for being the capta-

"Ahem!" Coughed Java at the speaker, cutting her off.

"What?" Asked the woman. Java frowned and walked closer to the radio. He whispered something into the radio. "Oh. I see. I forgot about that. Goodness really? Ok. Ok. I understand. Thank you Java, you're a lifesaver. I am broadcasting this to everyone right?"

"Yes, everyone is listening right now. It's just these two kids are here because I like them," He said. Java walked back to his position sternly. Max and the boy looked at each other. The boss wasn't speaking.

"The rules Mam," growled Java. He looked at the radio and scowled. "That woman! Gosh, learn to use technology!" He looked at the children and pointed to the big brown doors. "You are dismissed!" He bellowed. Max and Ego ran out of the room and closed the door behind them.

"What is happening here?!" Max finally let out. The kid looked at him and shook his head.

"I have no idea," said Ego. Max looked at him thankfully and realized he had someone to talk to that was relatable of the situation.

"My name is Max, what's yours?" Max asked thoughtfully and held out his hand for a handshake. Ego looked at him and shook it. Of course Max already knew his name but a thoughtful hello always helps.

"Ego," said Ego. Ego looked at Max and smiled. "I'm glad I have someone to talk to." His rugged long hair that fell to all sides of his head were combed, he must have done it before he came. Max looked at the door of the main office and back at Ego.

"What is happening here?" Max asked again. He walked away from the door, and sat down on some boxes with the letters N.D.P written on it. "Everywhere I go this stupid N.D.P follows me!" Max yelled. He got off the boxes and sat on the floor. Ego on the other hand was peeking through the small hole in the door. They sat there in silence for ten minutes until Java opened the door and put his head through.

"You two are still here?" He growled. He looked at Ego then Max. "We have no need for you to be here, scram!" Commanded Java. They quickly got up and ran away. Their run quickly turned into a slow walk. They didn't say a word the entire walk back. When they made it to the room full of kids they opened the door. All the kids were sitting on their seats quietly, like the sign said. Ego looked at Max and whispered.

"This is getting creepier by the second." Then he turned around and sat down. Ego motioned for him to sit down by him. Max was happy to have already made a friend. He walked over to him and sat down. It was quiet for two hours. No one let out the tiniest sound in the world. It was the quietest hours Max had been through in his life.

Of course he didn't know that. He looked at the taped up window and then around the room. He actually got to know the room as well. It was extremely bright in the room because of the hanger lights on the ceiling. The ceiling was a silk color. It was smooth and the same color was on the walls. So you could barely tell which was which.

The suitcases were next to the storage unit where Max had woken up. The floor was a beautiful blue color. With bold red words that he didn't enjoy looking at, N.D.P. He was very annoyed with that stupid word but he eventually got over it. It was a huge room, like an entire small train.

He didn't know what time it was but he knew it was getting late, he started yawning and Ego was asleep with his head resting on a pillow he stole from the kid next to him. He was a snorer which got louder and louder over time. After the five hour mark the door unlocked.

It was the only noise he had heard besides the snoring of Ego and the train cart moving up and down he sat up straight in his chair. The man who came through the door was not Java but a man with a vest that said S.W.A.T and G.O.N.D.P. He had a glass mask on and looked around the room.

"Wake up! I'm Commander Pildue and you will follow me to the dorm. Tomorrow is a big day!" He yelled. Everyone got up and followed him. There was finally chatter coming from the teens. Ego looked at Max.

"Hope I didn't annoy you with my snoring," Ego said. He put on his shoes and handed the pillow back to the kid he stole it from.

"Oh don't worry, I thought of waking you up six times," Max said. They walked and talked to keep the mood up. They did not speak a word of the mysterious N.D.P. When they made it to the door, Commander Pildue turned around and looked at the children sternly. "There will be no escapes. Or I will personally take you away!" He unlocked the door and let the children in. "We have the exact amount of beds in this room so pick one and keep it." Commander Pildue pulled out a key and closed the door behind him as he walked out of the room.

They could hear a key noise locking the door. This room didn't have much. It was a huge gray room with gray floors, gray walls and a gray ceiling. It was dim in the room, the only light was the tiny old light bulbs hanging from the ceiling for every top bunk, and the bottom of the top bunk there was a light for every bottom bunk.

Max looked at Ego and they went to the back of the room. It was a long walk because of all the bunk beds blocking their paths and it was a huge room. When they made it to the back wall they picked the bunk bed in the corner. Max sat down on the bed and when he sat down he felt as if he just sat on a rock.

"What is this?" Max asked as he got off the bed. Ego looked down at him from the top bunk and shrugged.

"I don't know. Probably some old matrices." Ego laid down and instantly he could hear snoring. He must have been really tired, Max  thought. Max laid down on the rock bed and instantly fell asleep. He was woken up by something digging into his back. He got up and looked at a lump in the rocky bed.

"Ow. Stupid bed!" He whispered. Max looked up at the top bunk expecting to see Ego sound asleep in his bed. But he was caught by surprise that he wasn't there! Max looked around and a lot of kids were gone.

It was weird. Everybody on the top bunk was missing and everyone on the bottom was sound asleep in their rocky bed. He walked around and it was the same everywhere. He looked around the dark room for five minutes.

Ego wasn't in any of the beds. He then looked for an open vent. But didn't even find an air vent. He then thought it was just an announcement that top bunks got so he went back to his rocky bed in worry.

The next morning he was woken up by a loud screeching bell. He got up and all the kids were getting ready for the day, combing their hair and putting on clothes. He then looked at the top bunk and Ego wasn't there.

"Everyone! Follow me!" Shouted the stern voice of Commander Pildue. He ran to the door that he had come from and followed the fifty kids through the door. They walked for a little while and then they started talking.

It was hallway after hallway after hallway and Max started to believe that he was one cart behind the front. The N.D.P were smart and didn't leave openings between carts. They walked and stopped for ten minutes until they finally made it to the big brown door of the main office.

"Stop! You guys will go in next!" Commanded Pildue. Max was scared and confused; his only friend in this N.D.P thing was Ego and now he's missing. He scanned the room for any answers but nothing was there but the broken down gray walls and ceiling and the big red letters N.D.P. He hated whatever that meant. He sat and walked around for five minutes until the door opened.

"Alright get in here. You guys get out first!" Commander Pildue roared. They came out with scared looks on their faces. Max was eager for them to tell them what happened to Ego and the other boys or what N.D.P meant.

He walked into the big office and there sitting in the boss chair was Java grinning. He looked at all the kids who were scrunched up against walls and pushed towards the middle. Max was in the very front. Java looked at Commander Pildue.

"Commander, escort the children to their dorm. And be back in five!" Commanded Java. Pildue nodded and closed the big wooden doors. Java looked at the scared teens and smiled.

"You guys are definitely wondering what is happening right now. Well I'm going to tell you every little detail you need to know!" Java growled. He then straightened in his boss's chair and snapped his fingers.

Instantly you could hear a mechanical noise then chairs came out from the walls and one for every teen. The chairs moved their way to everyone in the room then once they were all behind the children including Max they all sat down. Max was growing even more
