As the day of Lino's business trip arrived, the airport was bustling with activity, travelers rushing from one terminal to another, announcements filling the air. Yn stood beside him, clutching his arm tightly, her fingers laced through his as they walked toward the departure gate.
She had been quiet the entire ride, her mind focused on the reality that she would be without him for the next few days. Lino was leaving for an important business meeting abroad, and even though it was only temporary, the thought of not having him around made her heart feel heavy.
Lino glanced down at her, noticing how quiet and clingy she had become.
"Are you okay?" he asked softly, tilting his head to catch her eyes.
Yn nodded quickly, forcing a smile. "Y-yeah. Just... not used to the idea of you being away,"
she mumbled, her voice small and soft. Her hands instinctively tightened around his arm, as if holding on to him would somehow stop him from leaving.
He chuckled gently, wrapping his free arm around her shoulders, pulling her closer. "It's just for a few days, baby. I'll be back before you know it,"
he reassured, pressing a kiss to the top of her head.
They reached the security checkpoint, the final barrier before he'd have to go. Yn stared at the gate sign, her heart sinking a little further. Lino noticed and turned to her fully, gently cupping her face in his hands. "baby," he said softly, his voice tender.
"I'm going to miss you too, but you'll be okay. I'll call you every day, I promise."
Her lips quivered into a small pout, her eyes lowering as she nodded. She didn't want to seem too emotional, but she couldn't hide the way her heart ached.
"Y-You better," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
Lino grinned, leaning down to press a soft kiss to her forehead.
"Of course I will. I wouldn't last a day without hearing your voice," he teased lightly, hoping to bring some comfort to her.
Yn looked up at him, her cheeks tinged with pink as she leaned into his touch.
"I'll miss you... so much,"
she admitted shyly, her voice filled with sincerity. She then stood on her tiptoes, wrapping her arms around his neck tightly, pressing her face against his chest.
"Please don't be gone too long..."
