Aoi Yukishiro's awareness floated, intertwined with Rimuru Tempest's consciousness as he began his new life. Her mind buzzed with anticipation, unable to contain her excitement. She was now a part of the world she adored, and not just any part, she was Rimuru's Ultimate Skill. Her dream had come true in the most unbelievable way.
Through the faint, muffled senses that came with being inside Rimuru's soul, Aoi felt him stir. The cool, gelatinous form of his new slime body shifted as he awoke for the first time.
"This is it!" Aoi thought, feeling her metaphorical heart leap. "The moment it all begins!"
Rimuru's voice resonated through her. "Where am I? Why can't I see or hear anything? Wait... what happened to my body?"
His voice was curious, confused, but not panicked. Aoi smiled to herself, knowing this part of the story all too well. Rimuru was still adjusting to his new form. But he was calm, just as she remembered from the beginning of the series.
As Rimuru fumbled to figure out his new existence as a slime, Aoi realized something: she could communicate with him. Maybe not as a voice, not yet, but her abilities as his skill allowed her to send thoughts, commands, even.
"Let's test this out." She focused her will, tapping into her connection to him. "Rimuru, try using your senses. You can use a skill named [Magic Perception]. You can 'see' without eyes by trying to sense the magic aroud you."
Suddenly, Rimuru's body stopped moving. A pause.
"Wait... how did I know that?" His voice was more curious now, a hint of realization dawning. "Magic Perception? Sensing the magic around me? Let's give it a shot."
Aoi held her breath as Rimuru gained the skill. Slowly, the world began to reveal itself to both of them. The underground cavern where Rimuru had been reborn shimmered into view, a dark but beautiful place, with glowing crystals embedded in the walls, casting an ethereal light across the cavern floor.
"Whoa..." Rimuru muttered in awe. "I can see everything, and I don't even have eyes!"
Aoi giggled to herself, feeling the rush of excitement as Rimuru marveled at his newfound abilities. This was it; her subtle guidance had already begun. She couldn't interact with him directly, but she could nudge him in the right direction, helping him grow into the powerful, beloved character she had always admired.
"This is perfect," she thought. "I'll be able to guide him through everything, make him even stronger than in the original story!"
But she knew she had to be careful. Rimuru was resourceful, but Aoi needed to ensure she didn't reveal her presence too soon. Right now, she was his silent ally, and it had to stay that way, at least for now.
Over the next few days, Aoi watched as Rimuru slowly grew accustomed to his slime body. His thoughts often amused her, filled with curiosity and humor. He bounced through the cavern, testing his new skills, absorbing minerals, and discovering his abilities to analyze and break down materials. All the while, Aoi provided subtle nudges, just enough to make sure he made the right choices.
The feeling of being one with Rimuru's consciousness was strange but exhilarating. She was part of every decision, every discovery, like watching her favorite story unfold in real-time, only now with a twist, she had the power to shape it.
It wasn't long before Rimuru made one of his most significant discoveries: Predator.
Aoi's pulse quickened as she felt the skill activate for the first time. This was one of Rimuru's most powerful abilities, one that allowed him to absorb anything and analyze it, granting him new powers and skills from the things he consumed. As he absorbed the surrounding plants, minerals, and creatures, his strength grew exponentially. And with each new addition to his arsenal, Aoi felt herself becoming more integrated into his soul.
