***Justin's POV***

Her terrified eyes gazed into mine as I pushed her further behind a rack of boxes. I put a finger to my mouth indicating for her to stay quiet. I could see the panic coursing through her veins as I began to back away. My heart was pounding and my hands were shaking. Getting caught could mean me losing her. I quietly snuck around the inventory that the warehouse held, trying to make sure they didn't find either of us. I could hear words being exchanged about a shipment of some kind. I was able to see about four people, three men and a smaller woman. They talked for almost twenty minutes about what boxes were going where and to whom.

Each second that passed felt like a small eternity causing the knot in my stomach to grow even more. There was a silence that filled the room while a man filled out a clipboard. He clicked his pen and handed the clipboard to the woman. I adjusted myself quietly to see what was happening. A wave of relief flooded my veins when I saw each person leaving. On her way out, the woman stopped and turned a little to her right. A suspicious look crossed her face as she walked to the corner closest to her and looked around.

She put her index and middle finger in her mouth and blew out a loud whistle. One of the men jogged to her, stopping by her side. After a moment of observing the area, he clapped his hands together once and cleared his throat. Several men walked into the warehouse, more than had originally been in there, and began to clump next to the corner. The woman moved a piece of hair behind her ear then looked at the ceiling. A second later the men scattered like roaches. They began to look up and down the rows of boxes, heading straight towards me.

I held my breath and ducked lower into my hiding place. The men looked like they belonged in the marine corps, but something else about them made the hair on the back on my neck stand up. As they passed me I noticed the guns they were carrying along with the various amounts of ammo and knives. My heart stopped when I figured out just who these people were. Four men edged closer to her hiding spot and I knew I had to do everything to save her. I kicked down a rack of boxes causing them to tumble down the isle. I ran out to the front where everyone was and slid the knife out of my sock.

Without hesitation five men charged towards me. I was completely unsure of how long I could hold them off but as of right now, they were all distracted. The first one threw a punch but I dodged it quickly. I kneed his stomach and punched him in his temple. Three more surrounded me as I fought fiercely back. I landed a few punches and kicks to the men and managed to knock those three out. The biggest man circled me with his knife out. I knew this wasn't going to turn out well for one of us.

He swung first grazing my forearm slightly. The adrenaline in my bloodstream began to boost the longer we fought. I hit him in the back of the head with butt end of my knife causing him to drop faster than I had expected. I dislocated his right shoulder leaving him with only his nondominant hand to fight with. He was lying there moaning in pain as more men came to me and fought as hard as they could. The blood was streaming down my face from all the punches, and my right eye was swollen shut. A punch to my cheek loosened a tooth and filled my mouth with blood. I spat the tooth out and continued to fight hard against the man.

The man who had been standing next to the woman threw the other man on the floor and began to fight me. I was hurting so much and I was beyond tired at this point, but I wasn't about to give up. It wasn't until he was just about as bloody as I was that a punch out of no where knocked me to the ground. The last thing I saw was the woman's boot coming down on my face.
__________

My head hung low and it hurt to move. I tried to assess my situation as quickly as possible. I was sitting on what felt like a metal chair with my feet tied to two of the legs. My hands were tied behind my back, and it felt like they used rope and zip ties. A piece of duct tape covered my mouth. My left eye was fine, but my right was swollen completely shut. I could hear footsteps a few feet away from me and the hushed whispers of voices throughout the room. Someone coughed which seemed to catch every person's attention.

Footsteps came towards me and stopped right infront of me. Someone grabbed my hair and pulled my head up. The woman was standing in front of me with a face that sat with no expression. She took the duct tape off of me fast, leaving a stinging sensation where it had been. I held back my pain and refused to flinch. She stared deep into my eyes making me feel like she was reading my thoughts. She looked me up and down and shook her head.

"Where did you learn to fight like that?" she asked in a sturdy tone. After a moment of silence she slapped my cheek hard and spoke again, "Answer my fucking question".

I studied her face before I answered, "Just picked it up over the years."

She laughed, shaking her head, "You just picked that up-did you guys here that?" She turned to the other men in the room and shrugged her shoulders. She turned back towards me, her face as hard as stone, "That's bullshit and you know it! It takes one hell of a fighter to mow down any two of my men, but the fact that you did that to five and still held your ground against the second best fighter I've ever met means there is no way you just 'picked it up'. Now I'll ask once more: where did you receive your training?"

A murderous look filled her eyes as I remained silent. She let a few seconds go by before she threw a punch to my nose so hard it sent me and the chair falling backwards. She snapped and two of her men came and sat me upright. I kept my chin up, silently showing her that I wasn't going to compromise easily.

"Where. Did. You. Get. Your. Training." She asked me through gritted teeth.

I didn't respond. I awaited another punch meant to wear me down, but what came next was much worse. The woman pulled her fist back and began to swing, but was interrupted when a horrified voice behind us yelled, "Daddy!"

Panic struck me harder than any of her punches had. The woman looked at my little girl, then back to me. Seeing the fear in my eyes, she smiled and started to make her way to my daughter.

As she approached my child I broke, "No, no, no. Please, I'll tell you anything. Don't touch her!"

I don't know why but Elizabeth didn't move. She clinged on tight to her little bear and stood still. The woman kneeled in front of her and began to quietly talk to her. I yelled for her to stop many times before someone had applied another piece of duct tape to my mouth. She picked her up and rested my Elizabeth on her hip. She nodded at someone behind me, then directed her attention back to my daughter. One man from behind me grabbed my hair and put a rag to my face. I gave way faster than I had expected, and my whole world went black.
