LACROSSE PRACTICE
"BUT if you play, I'll have no one to talk to on the bench. Are you really gonna do that to your best friend?"Stiles whined as he followed the McCall boy into the lacrosse field.
"Clo is by the bleachers, why don't you go call her down to sit with you?"Scott asked as both of the boys' Gazes fixated on the Raven haired girl who was playing with the end of her braid
"Yeah, but Clove is mad at me right now."Stiles sighed as Scott fiddled with the net of his lacrosse Scott "she's been bitching at me all day, please tell me your also noticing it?"Stiles asked.
"Your being a dick, man."Scott shrugged as Stiles held up his hands in defense
"Wh-how am I being a dick?"Stiles scoffed
"I mean, you talk about Lydia 24/7..I put up with it,maybe she just can't."Scott said as if it was the simplest thing in the word.
...
Clove jogged up the stairs of the bleachers as she escorted herself next to Allison, already growing to like the girl after only meeting her a few hours back.
"Ali!hey."Clove said as she sat by the Argent girl who gave her a smile "clove!"Allison said with a wide beam.
But abreast of the brunette sat none other than a familiar strawberry blonde. Clove held back an eye roll as she chose to be the bigger man...or woman in this situation.
"Who is that?"Allison asked, nodding off to Scott who was playing goal, which surprised Clove. Scott never served as goal.
Lydia focused her gaze on the goal, her eyes squinting "Him? I'm not sure who he is."Lydia said, twirling a piece of her hair around her finger.
Clove rolled her eyes now,not bothering to hold it back "yeah..it's not like he's been in your school for the past 7 years or anything."Clove muttered under her breath which didn't go unnoticed by the Martin girl.
"What was that Waldorf?"Lydia asked as she focused her gaze on Clove who shot her a smile with no joy behind it.
"I have a name you know?clove."the raven haired girl said "also, that's Scott McCall. My best friend."Clove said,Proudly.
Lydia scoffed "You have friends?"the girl asked.Clove's hand rested on her knee,
clutching it by force to force herself not to pull her red hair off."Yes.Lydia.I have friends"
"I wonder if they're also friends with you because of your brother."Lydia said.
That was Clove's last straw,You would expect The girl to get up and Give Lydia a well earned Slap, but Clove Packed her bags, containing the fuming rage at the back of mind.
The Waldorf girl rose up from her seat as she felt Allison take her wrist "Clo.."Allison whispered "no.Ali it's fine really."Clove said,
Giving the strawberry blonde a glare.Allison gave her a sympathetic smile as she rubbed the side of her wrist before letting go of her wrist.
As Allison watched Clove's figure Disappear to the Under bleachers,She turned to Look at the red head besides her who looked like someone who was trying the actual guilt they felt.
"Why do you hate her so much?"Allison asked,
The strawberry blonde stayed silent for a beat before captivating her Gaze to Allison's chocolate eyes.
"Fine."Lydia said with an ironic smile as she rotated herself to the side to face the girl.
"Waldorf and Jackson used to be a think freshman year. But they never said anything to anyone, and when Jackson started dating me,he told me. and after our little interaction today in the morning,I think Jackson still has a thing for Leather jacket girl ."Lydia said in a shushed tone.
Allison's eyebrows furrowed in confusion "So it's..Jealousy?"She whispered
"Something like that."Lydia said
...
Clove plopped her bag next to her as she took a seat besides Stiles.
The boy glanced her way, knowing it was his only chance to verbal out his apology "Hey,uh are you okay..?"He asked
The girl turned his way as her dark eyes met his hazel ones. "yeah."she whispered with a nod.
"Look I'm..I'm sorry for being a dick,I shouldn't have said..what I said."said the boy,
Clove couldn't contain the smile that was slowly forming on her face"I mean,it was worth it since you admitted being a dick."she laughed, earning a playful nudge from stiles.
The two teens Focused their attention back At Scott who got hit in the helmet by Jackson thrown ball. She stared longer than usual at Jackson, the longer she stared, the longer she realized how messed up it was of her to not tell her own best friends that she once dated the asshole of the school.
"Hey, way to catch with your face, McCall!"Jackson exclaimed making the whole lacrosse field shoot out laughing at Scott
"Prick."she mumbled under her breath in annoyance
"Come on that was luck!"Clove yelled as she rose from her seat,Making the whole lacrosse team Glance her and Stiles' way who was also trying to stop her by pulling her sleeve.
"Do over!"She said,Coach Finstock wave his hand off with a shake of the head "this is practice sweetheart, there are no do-overs."He scoffed.
"Ten bucks on Scott."She demanded. Stiles, desperately pulling the end of her sleeve to shut her up did no affect to the determinant girl.
"I'll take that!"Coach Finstock said, blowing his whistle. The next player tosses the ball towards Scott, but the McCall boy caught it smoothly, to the point where he's visibly stunned that he was able to do so.
This sentiment is shared by all the rest of the teammates, Stiles and Clove included, who was Saying she was waiting for her ten bucks in between cheers for her best friend.
The second, third, fourth, and fifth shots were caught by Scott just as easily and just as swiftly, leaving Coach Finstock simply staring at the boy with his mouth gaped open. Clive was sure his jaw could've hit the floor if it opened a little more.
Jackson who was raging by the back of the tow,Intent to take Scott down a peg so that he's back in the spotlight, slams the top of his stick against the player who was set to practice his goals, ditching him in line.
"Oh god.."The girl mumbled, shaking her head at the furious Whittemore boy. Jackson runs as fast as his legs could take him and sprinted off towards the goal, tossing the ball with all the force he can muster.
But to everyone's astonishment,Scott caught the ball as easily as he did to all the other six goals, making both of his best friends rose from their seat, shouting the loudest cheers someone could have confused for a pack of people cheering at the bar because a player scored a goal for the winning team.
