"We should take some of the firewater," Percy told his girlfriend, she was leaning on him. She wasn't doing good, worse than he was.

Ana had gone pale, her once,  dark blue eyes turning nearly white. Worst of all, is when she traced his scar, his entire body went numbing cold. That had never happened to him before when she traced any of his scars. It was always a calming, soft, and warm feeling that made him feel like he was at home. She needed it more than him, Percy was merely starving despite the nausea. Still, he knew she wouldn't want to be the one to seem weak.

Does she fear what he does? That her healing is gone? That because of it, she is slowly devolving.

Percy never realized how much she depended on her own power, as if she was merely holding herself together with duct tape. She gives her power to Zella, even for a near decade of thinking she was dead, Ana was still giving a piece of herself to someone who thought she was dead.

Is that why Ana is always so exhausting? Would she be more powerful if she didn't use so much of it to keep herself together? Didn't give so much of herself to everyone else?

It was a worrying thought. Ana had never controlled all of her power at once, he realizes. What if, it's not that she can't access her power, but she can't control it? It is all starting to overwhelm her?

"Firewater," Ana's voice hummed through the air. She spoke so quietly, so distantly it began to worry him. It reminded him as when they went to California on his first quest. He didn't understand it then, and he still didn't now. The only time she seemed here was when she spoke about Zella. "Yes. Okay."
