Y/N's House
Saturday, 14th September 2024 (1:30PM)

Everything on my desk has been messily shoved aside and it's now taken over by multiple pieces of paper, and a cup.

I don't know how long it's been but I've made some sense of the little alphabet chart which tells me exactly which letter, or number, or even punctuation is represented by each symbol. I thought it would be easy at first - ofcourse! But it's definitely some point in the afternoon now, and there's so many little pieces of paper that I don't know how to keep up.

To make matters worse, I've realized that something's missing. One of the letters in blank, with no symbol - how am I supposed to figure that out? Is there a side quest I need to do? I don't have even the slightest clue how I'm supposed to figure out what it is.

I have tried all the obvious options. I've tried to order them in terms of their numbers, or, symbols - but it's so easy to lose track when you're constantly flipping through papers, and losing the most important one in the mess.

With a long breath, I finally successfully assemble the pile of papers. Looking over them, I feel a faint pang of dread, but it's quickly overcome by pride. I've been sitting down for so long that my bones have gone stiff and my head aches from the concentrating.

I reach over to grab my cup, but upon looking inside I realize that I've finished my drink. Eh, well, I needed to get up anyway. Stretch a bit. I should make myself something to eat if I'm going to make myself something to drink.

With some pops of my joins, and light stretching I make my way into the kitchen. The kettle is already boiling, and I'm scavenging around for something to eat - but I can't concentrate. I can't help but find my mind wandering back to the book and to the codes, just thinking about how truly bizarre all of this is.

Out of everybody, this has happened to me, and if anything goes wrong I can always speak to Dipper or Ford about it. Not that I want to burden them...

The kettle finishes boiling and I turn to finish making my tea. For a moment I stand there and let the steam hit my face, it's rather warm in a comforting way.

A buzz comes from my pocket - A message.

I quickly reach into my pocket to retrieve my phone and see who messaged me - but for some reason the screen won't turn on. "Oh come on." I click the side button a few more times - this isn't unusual. My phone does this sometimes.

For a moment the screen flashes, instead of seeing my regular home-screen, the background is black and nothing but a text message from Wendy is there. Her entire message is sent in symbols. Symbols I recognize. The sight causes my skin to prickle and I gasp, my phone slipping from my hands - I don't mean it to, I've just lost control of my grip for a moment. What I just saw is real, isn't it? I'm not just going crazy. I swear it. I swear it on my life.

I flinch at the bang of my phone hitting the counter and quickly pick it back up. I press the button but upon the screen flashing on as normal, I'm met with disappointment. Everything is as it should be, so now I'm wondering if I am in fact just going crazy.

I read the text from Wendy.

Wendy: 'Wish you came to the Festival. Was a total blast'

I feel a smile creeping up on my face for a moment. So she did wish I was there after all... Part of my mind is put to ease and I can feel a warm sense of gratitude in my chest as I hover my thumb over the message to reply back - but wait, Festival. The Glitch.
